The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people. – Martin Luther King, Jr.
One of the toughest jobs in the United States might just be GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s communication director and/or press secretary.
The communications director is one of the paid campaign staffers whose job it is to explain/defend Trump’s statements. Being a communication director or press secretary is a great job when all is going well, but when a scandal hits or the boss says something stupid, it can become a freaking nightmare.
Plus, as the press person you have to be somewhat nice to reporters. Believe me – I’ve done many interviews and sometimes it’s difficult to keep from telling some reporters where to go.
Donald Trump seems to be able to “strike a nerve” just about every week with some outrageous statement. His press office must be busy. Although he’s pretty bombastic, he leads in just about every Republican Presidential poll. Donald Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.
He seems to be saying what many Obama haters believe deep down, but they are afraid to say out loud.
The Republican Party probably never thought that Trump would be relevant this long. Now he is becoming a problem. He could win this darn thing and take down the Republican Party all in one year! He already threatened to run as an independent and that would also sink the Republicans. If Trump is the Republican nominee for President, then the Democrats would probably win back the majority in the U.S. Senate.
Hello Monday! It’s time for another odds and ends edition from the past weekend! When there are several stories out there that I want to comment about, I combine them into one column and call it “Potpourri” or “Odds & Ends” or something catchy to get your attention.
