Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something. – Plato
Get your coffee! Welcome to the big show to end the week “Caught My Eye” (CME). We’re coming to you from The Western Word world headquarters which is just a few (thousand) miles west of Aleppo, Syria! (Map for Gary Johnson)
If you are a first-time visitor, CME is posted right here every Friday morning. This is when I take a look at some of the stories I did not have time to write about during the week. I often throw in a touch of sarcasm to make you smile – or to irritate you just a little – maybe both.
Topics this week include Zinke’s First Campaign Ad, Municipal Court & contempt, TWW picks the winning candidates (so far), Commander-in-Chief Forum, Colin Powell’s Advice, Charter Spectrum cable TV, and much more!
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. – Confucius
Welcome to “Thursday Numbers!” In case you’re a first-time visitor, this is the weekly column where I take a look at the numbers that are in the news (in descending order) and provide commentary sometimes sprinkled with sarcasm.
This week’s topics include Memorial Day, Steve Bullock, unemployment, Ryan Zinke, Trump in Billings, Crow Reservation, Spelling Bee, veterans, Hillary Clinton & Colin Powell & emails, alcohol compliance check, National Wine Day, bathrooms & locker rooms, plus much more!
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was on Meet the Press Sunday to promote Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense (SecDef). He also spoke about the Republican Party – in fact he slapped the Republican Party pretty hard during the interview.
The GOP needed the wake-up. Will they listen?
You can watch the show HERE and read the transcript HERE.
I’ve already written that I think Chuck Hagel is a “great pick” for SecDef. Most Republicans would too if a Republican President would have nominated Hagel to be the next SecDef instead of Democratic President Barack Obama.
Welcome once again to Thursday Numbers! If you are a new visitor to The Western Word, Thursday Numbers is where I take a look at the numbers in the news and provide commentary (often with a touch of sarcasm).
PLEASE NOTE: The Western Word is not responsible for the knowledge you will gain by reading this column! You will probably be able to use this knowledge to impress your family, friends and co-workers! At least it might be something to use as trivia! This information might even be life-changing. Consider yourself warned…
This week I write about the national debt, unemployment, a tip, firings, Conrad and Pondera, hitting the mark, opening day, fewer tricks, veterans, polls, a veto, and much more!
