FLU & COVID SHOTS:
I am happy to report that I received my annual flu and COVID vaccinations this week (and yes, it felt a bit like sticking it to the man!).
I trust in science, not politicians.

FREEDOM OF THE PRESS:
In my Tuesday column, I wrote about the Trump Administration banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House.
The Associated Press (AP) reported that late Wednesday night, in his decision to provisionally lift the ban, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly ordered the White House to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” the three outlets’ access. He said they had met the legal thresholds to obtain a temporary restraining order and were likely to succeed in showing that their press passes were revoked without due process.
Although this is not over, the freedom of the press in our country is vitally important. I am sure our courts will make sure the Trump Administration understands that.
PAID FOR BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT:
In case you missed it, the Trump Administration is using some of our money (taxpayers’) to air a commercial to promote him.
The title of the commercial is “The Country He Loves,” and the commercial says that “Together we will defeat communism, socialism, and Marxism in America. America will never be a communist country.”
UFC President Dana White’s voice can be heard saying about Trump, “He’s the toughest, most resilient person that I’ve ever met, and nothing was going to stop him from fighting so hard for the country he loves.”
I think this is nothing more than a desperate push to save the GOP’s congressional majorities. Crossing lines with hyper-partisan campaign ads is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Trump and his operation.

This PHOTO captures a peaceful little rest area off Interstate 80 near Grand Island, Nebraska. We only stopped for a few minutes to stretch our legs, but looking at those trees, I easily could have laid out a blanket and napped the afternoon away.
ONE MORE THING:
