U.S. SENATE MONTANA 2026:

The deadline for candidates to withdraw from the general election passed on Monday, with Democrat Alani Bankhead and Independent Seth Bodnar staying in the race. (Source)

So, there will be four choices for U.S. Senate on the ballot in November: Republican Kurt Alme, Democrat Alani Bankhead, Independent Seth Bodnar, and Libertarian Kyle Austin. 

Many experts, myself included, feel this decision essentially secures the victory for Republican Kurt Alme. Montanans may end up with another official being elected without getting 50% or more of the vote.  

Ballots will be mailed on October 9. 

TRUMP’S SECRET FLIGHT?:

The Washington Post (WaPo) is reporting that an Iranian assassination threat against President Donald Trump prompted an extraordinary operation last month in which he flew secretly from Turkey on an alternate military aircraft while the White House said he was aboard Air Force One. 

WaPo also reported that the clandestine mission, which has not been reported previously, was carried out unbeknownst to journalists and some White House staff members who believed they were on the same plane as the president, according to material reviewed by The Post, a U.S. official familiar with the operation and another person with knowledge of the president’s travel.  

According to reports, in Ankara, Trump boarded the old Air Force One jumbo jet in view of television cameras. He was secretly shuttled minutes later to a smaller plane — an Air Force C-32A — via an airport catering truck typically used to load meals and other supplies preflight, according to the U.S. official and corroborating material reviewed by The Post. That made Air Force One a “decoy” with media and some White House staff aboard, the official said. 

Can you imagine Trump in a catering truck?  

There seem to be more threats against Trump than other Presidents. We have to protect our President.

CHILDHOOD VACCINATIONS:

The Associated Press (AP) and other sources reported that President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order calling for revamped childhood vaccine recommendations that promote his long-held but discredited theory that childhood shots should be spaced out into separate medical visits. 

The AP reports that the order advocates separating the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine into three different single-disease shots and administering all childhood immunizations at separate appointments whenever possible.  

Get your tinfoil hats ready, folks. 

THE BURRITO DEBATE:

In case you missed it, there’s an “important” debate on social media about the cost of a burrito. 

According to several sources, like USA Today, the debate began after Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for Turning Point USA, shared a complaint he said he heard from a college student: “A burrito shouldn’t cost $20.” 

It’s just part of the concerns about grocery costs and the high costs of almost everything these days. 

The debate has included remarks from Vice President JD Vance and U.S. Representative Ben Crenshaw. 

So does a burrito cost $20? Most folks think it’s hard to find one that costs that much. I had some frozen burritos the other night. A package of eight was about $6. (Source)
