Caught My Eye…

Quote for the Day…

I think we can conclude that the “time out” generation didn’t produce as good of citizens as the “ass beating” generation. – Unknown

Welcome to another exciting edition of Caught My Eye (CME)!

CME is the once-a-week column that is posted every Friday morning. This is when I look at some of the stories I did not have time to write about during the week.

Here are some of the things that “Caught My Eye” this week:

  • Gianforte the Maskhole
  • Daines “No” on Infrastructure
  • U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team
  • One More Thing

GIANFORTE THE MASKHOLE:

Twitter was buzzing with a report from ABC/FOX Montana that shows Montana Governor Greg Gianforte inside the Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport without a mask on.

ABC/FOX Montana reached out to the Governor’s office and received the following response:

“In response to your inquiry — the governor and first lady, who are fully vaccinated, were briefly in the airport lobby to welcome their family into town for their daughter’s wedding. They did not have masks with them at the time and were unable to find any at the airport entrance.” – A spokesperson for Governor Greg Gianforte said via email.

The governor is one of the richest people in the state. When he was in Congress, he was ranked near the top in wealth. It’s hilarious that he does not have a mask and was supposedly relying on the airport to supply him with one.

Gianforte is a maskhole. His past actions have shown he does not believe in masks. He broke the federal rules by not wearing a mask in the airport. He should be held accountable for not taking personal responsibility. We know he can afford the fine.

DAINES “NO” ON INFRASTRUCTURE:

MTN News reported this week that Montana Republican U.S. Sen. Steve Daines said he’ll be voting against the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill before the Senate, calling it a budget-buster that is “absolutely unacceptable” at this time.

We all know if Donald Trump had backed the infrastructure bill Daines would be the biggest supporter. Since Joe Biden did, Daines will vote “No.” Daines is that partisan.

U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) has been involved in the negotiations. His office issued a press release saying the bipartisan infrastructure bill includes responsible, targeted pay-fors that will generate new savings and revenue, some of which is reflected in the formal CBO score and some of which are reflected in other CBO and Joint Committee on Taxation estimates.

The press release also contends that the CBO and Joint Committee on Taxation estimate that the pay-fors not included in the official CBO score would provide $269.55 billion in revenue, which is $13 billion more than what the CBO claims the bipartisan infrastructure package will add to the deficit.

Tester earlier reported that the legislation would provide approximately $2.82 billion for Montana roads and highways over the next five years. It would also provide roughly $225 million to repair and upgrade Montana’s bridges and $144 million for Montana airports.

When this bill passes, I hope the Montana media and voters remember that Daines wanted no part in improving the roads, bridges, and airports in Montana.

U.S. WOMEN’S NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM:

I arose at 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning to watch the U.S. women’s national soccer team beat Australia 4-3 for the bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics.

I am so proud of how they came back to play a great game after losing to Canada a few days ago.

Recently I wrote about the haters hating on the team with some ignorant people calling some of the players freaks. Megan Rapinoe, who takes the brunt of the hatred, scored two goals to slam the door shut on the haters.

The haters are led by Donald Trump. He stated after the USA team won the bronze:

If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze. Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has. There were, however, a few Patriots standing. Unfortunately, they need more than that respecting our Country and National Anthem. They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again. The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!

As normal, Trump lies. The team stood for the National Anthem in the Olympics. (Source)

“The woman with the purple hair played terribly” was Megan Rapinoe. She scored two goals in the bronze medal match. Another lie.

Trump is such an ass.

Go USA!!

ONE MORE THING:

A majority of Republicans still believe the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll. The survey of 1,552 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 30 to Aug. 2, found that 66 percent of Republicans continue to insist that “the election was rigged and stolen from Trump,” while just 18 percent believe “Joe Biden won fair and square.” (Source)

I may have found out the date of Trump’s inauguration. It is supposed to happen in August. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a pro-Trump businessman who spread misinformation that the 2020 election was a fraud, has claimed that Trump would be back by Aug. 13, 2021. (Source)

That is next Friday – Friday the 13th.

    • JColemanMoore- nice cartoon. It seems counties and states that Trump won big, has more COVID cases. Might not always be true, but in flathead county he won that with 64%. Thanks, JmB

  1. And once Greg Gianforte realized he had forgotten his mask and there wasn’t a free one, meaning if he went in he would be in violation of Federal rules about masks in hubs of mass transportation, waiting out by the curb to meet his party like other people do was simply not an option. Because just like killing wolves without the required cert, and punching out reporters, no rules apply to Greg Gianforte. Rules and laws are for suckers without money. That’s our governor, setting a sterling example for all other Montanans. Don’t like a rule or law? Just ignore it.
