NEW RULES:
No, these are not Bill Maher’s “New Rules” from his weekly HBO show, “Real Time” but “New Rules” just decided by the U.S. Senate leaders regarding the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
The Associated Press (AP) has them in an “Explainer” right HERE. The story is written by Mary Clare Jalonick who once covered Montana and, in my opinion, was not that fair in her reporting while in Montana. She seems to have moved more to the middle since those days.
These rules are kind of like the two kids who want to fight, but make up rules as to where they can hit each other. It’s that asinine.
Although he should be, Trump won’t be convicted. Politics has tainted the vision and caused the loss of a spine to most in Washington. The spineless bastards are harming our country.
SHAKING MY HEAD:
Here are three things I read or saw in the past few days that made me shake my head in disbelief. Of course, I offer my commentary.
JENNY CUDD:
You may not have heard about Jenny Cudd. This is her story.
The Washington Post reports:
A Texas woman (Jenny Cudd) who bragged in a Facebook live stream about storming the U.S. Capitol can vacation in Mexico later this month, a judge said Friday, as the defendant’s case expanded significantly with new federal charges. Jenny Cudd’s attorney had asked the judge to let her travel this month to Riviera Maya on a four-day trip with employees of her flower shop — “a work-related bonding retreat for employees and their spouses,” attorney Farheena Siddiqui wrote in a motion, saying Cudd attended her scheduled court appearance and has stayed “in constant contact with her attorney.”
This is BS. What the heck is wrong with the government lawyers who supposedly did not oppose this trip? What about the judge? Come on people! Five people were killed.
MORGAN WALLEN:
Country singer Morgan Wallen was caught on camera using a racial slur.
Rolling Stone reports:
Despite the country music industry’s swift withdrawal of support for Morgan Wallen after a video of him surfaced Tuesday night using a racial slur — a breakneck fall from grace that has included much of the radio industry pulling his songs from airwaves, his contract with Big Loud Records being suspended “indefinitely,” and the Academy of Country Music halting his “potential involvement and eligibility” for this year’s awards — the country singer lost no support from his fans on streaming.
Rolling Stone also reported that Wallen’s sales increased 1,220 percent on Wednesday compared to Tuesday, while his song sales were up 327 percent, according to Alpha Data, the data analytics provider that powers the Rolling Stone Charts. And despite being removed from playlists like Today’s Country on Apple Music and Spotify’s Hot Country Songs, his streams did not dip on Wednesday at all.
How messed up is this? Is the United States full of racists? I think we have many.
NO UNATTENDED VEHICLES:
I was at the local airport Monday morning and parked in front of the terminal waiting on a family member to return from a short trip. There are signs in front of the terminal that clearly state “No Unattended Vehicles.”
That sign did not stop several people from leaving their vehicles unattended and going into the terminal to look for family or friends.
I performed duties in law enforcement and security in the military and, after my military service, I also assisted with several VIP visits to Montana, including current and former Presidents. I take security very seriously.
I never saw one security person come by that area to check. It was a cold day, so maybe it was a hassle to put on a heavy coat and get out in the weather for the airport security personnel. Nonetheless, this is laziness and dangerous.
