The Western Word is coming to you, STILL coronavirus free, from deep inside an underground bunker in Montana. The bunker also serves as the worldwide headquarters for The Western Word blog! I may have a photo or two from the underground bunker to share later this week…

Today’s independent commentary deals with these people/issues:
- Bullock Is In
- MT GOP & Bullock
- Republicans & Coronavirus
- Biden’s Running Mate
BULLOCK IS IN:
It was really not a well-kept secret, but Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced early this morning that he was, after denying it for months, running for U.S. Senate. The seat is currently occupied by Republican first-termer Steve Daines, who is a Trump insider, and native Californian.
Daines will be slightly favored against Bullock, although Daines sent a campaign email out this morning proclaiming the race to be a “toss-up.”
Those who support Bullock should hope that he employs some or most of Jon Tester’s campaign folks. In three races, Tester has knocked off three prominent Republicans. Yes, one of those Tester victories sent me into blogging full time – something I got over a long time ago and turned me into an independent.
This race will get nasty. The President may come to Montana like he did to try and defeat Tester, but this year he may need to spend more time in the battleground states to try and beat Biden or Sanders. I hope Daines keeps his wife and daughters away from the Donald…

MT GOP & BULLOCK:
In a press release, the Montana Republican Party announced on Friday that they had filed an official ethics complaint against Governor Steve Bullock alleging Bullock illegally used his state government resources during his failed campaign for President.
The Montana Republican Party figured Bullock would announce that he was running for U.S. Senate on Monday and they could get a head start on attacking him.
I think the Montana GOP should look into Steve Daines’ actions on Twitter to see if he was doing the same thing in which they accuse Bullock. Heck, why not check on folks in the Montana legislature most who don’t know the difference between official work and campaign work.
Why stop there? The President has been wearing a “Keep America Great” campaign hat during official business like briefings on coronavirus and during his trip to Tennessee after the tornado.
Every elected official should have two twitter accounts and two Facebook accounts to keep the campaign and official business separate. Trump should not be wearing campaign attire while doing official business.
REPUBLICANS & CORONAVIRUS:
I don’t trust Rasmussen Reports polls, but I just had to mention one of their polls:
60% of Republicans See Coronavirus Scare As Tool to Get Trump
Yes, it’s all about “getting” Donald, you dumbasses.
Read more from the poll HERE.
BIDEN’S RUNNING MATE:
Rumors are out there that Joe Biden may pick U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar as his running mate. I like Klobuchar, but I think a better running mate would be Michelle Obama.
That pick would send the right-wing wackos over the edge.

thanks Doug – maybe they should quarantine them until January!
