The Monday Memo

Don’t regret growing older. It’s a privilege denied to many. – Unknown

Welcome to another Monday!

Today’s independent commentary deals with these people/issues:

  • MTGov – Gianforte
  • MTAL – Stapleton
  • Trump 2020
  • One More Thing

MTGov – Gianforte:

At the Montana Republican convention this past weekend, U.S. Representative Greg Gianforte announced his intention to run for Governor of Montana. (MTN News)

Montana seems to have a hard time keeping people in the U.S. House. After being elected I guess they find out they don’t like the job or they are not used to beIng one of 435 class presidents. When they decide to run for another office, Montana goes toward to bottom in seniority.

It is my hope that whoever replaces U.S. Representative Greg Gianforte in the U.S. House decides to stay there for a while (voters willing).

As for Gianforte, this is a classic case of someone who has an ego that he has to fuel often for excitement. It was the same with Steve Daines when he was in the U.S. House. They are extremely rich and this seems to be the way they entertain themselves.

I don’t see myself supporting Gianforte for many reasons, but one big reason is his screwing over Montana by abandoning his U.S. House seat.

You can visit Gianforte’s website by clicking HERE.

MTAL – Stapleton:

Speaking of someone who seems to have the need to run for a different office every election let me introduce you to Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton.

The Associated Press reported that Stapleton said Saturday he’s leaving the crowded gubernatorial race to become the first Republican to run for the state’s newly open U.S. House seat.

Great googly moogly.

It’s time to get real. Stapleton has run for many offices (Governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House) and he was lucky to be elected Montana Secretary of State. If he decided to run for reelection in that office, he might not win because he has screwed up several times.

Democrats should dedicate the Rolling Stones song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” to Stapleton and Gianforte:

I can’t get no satisfaction, I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no…

Trump 2020:

It looks like Tuesday will be the day that President Donald Trump announces that he is running for reelection. Here is part of his announcement email in which he asks for donations:

When I launched my 2016 Presidential campaign 4 years ago today, the FAKE NEWS media told us that we had NO CHANCE of winning, but I believed in our tremendous potential because of YOU.

Since then we’ve been WINNING at an unprecedented rate:
>Unemployment rates are the lowest they’ve been in decades
>We’ve created MILLIONS of new jobs
>The Beautiful WALL is being built
>We appointed two fantastic conservative Supreme Court Justices
>America is respected on a world stage again
>And so much more

You showed them what American Greatness looks like, and we’re just getting started.

I am officially launching my Second Term Presidential Run this Tuesday…

Winning again in 2020 is going to be another tough fight. Whichever SOCIALIST the Democrats nominate will have the FAKE NEWS media on their side and a team of Hollywood Mega Donors funding their campaign.

Right now, I think it will be tough for Trump to win reelection, but Election Day is a long ways away.

One More Thing:

In case you missed it, O.J. Simpson now has a Twitter account. He started it on Friday and has about 600,000 followers.

The Associated Press reported on the story HERE.

In one of his posts, Simpson said he’s got a “little gettin’ even to do.”

What could go wrong?

At least Simpson can’t start a nuclear war with a tweet…

  1. “Whoever reads the fine print in this “historical decision” will understand that it is nothing more than decisions on fake policy,” Hauser said. “There is no budget, there is no plan, there is no location for the settlement and there isn’t really any binding decision to execute the project.”

Hauser stated that the most important thing is that “they insisted on the name for the dummy settlement,” explaining that the name is being used for public relations, and that he hopes that “President Trump does not know his name is being used for [this] exercise.”

Heh! A fake, dummy settlement named for a fake and dummy president*.
