Today’s quick hits deal with these issues:

Daines Has a Problem:
U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) posted an article on Twitter with the headline:
“Delta and United Airlines Cut Ties With NRA Amid Call to Boycott.”
Daines then added, “I’m a Diamond frequent flyer on @Delta and @NRA Lifetime Member. I’m looking for a new airline.”
While the Tweet shows just how out of touch Daines is, some of the responses to his Tweet are pure gold. Here are some of my favs:
- Thoughts and Prayers in your time of sadness.
- What a coincidence, I’m looking for a new senator.
- Hop a ride with Scott Pruitt he flies in style I hear.
- Well those 17 kids won’t be flying anywhere. Think about that on your next trip.
- I’ve heard good things about hot air balloons.
Daines should also understand that he probably became a “Diamond frequent flyer on @Delta” because we the taxpayers are paying for his flights.
Broward County Deputies:
USA Today is reporting that more Broward County deputies are under investigation for their response to the high school shooting in South Florida that left 17 dead, and it’s leaving the department on the defensive as more accusations are made public. The department is investigating a claim that several deputies stayed outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., during the response to the mass shooting instead of immediately going inside.
This is terrible. If the investigation reveals that several deputies stayed outside, they should also be fired as well as the sheriff.
Don’t forget to let your thoughts be known about arming teachers!
I posted a poll here at The Western Word on Saturday asking, “Do you think we should allow qualified and trained teachers to be armed in our public schools?”
Click HERE to take the poll.
The results will be released on Thursday.
