Terrific News Tuesday

And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring? –Chuck Noland (Cast Away)

Hey kids – welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Stuff the Bus
  • GFPS Facilities Tour
  • 10th Street Bridge
  • Decision America Tour 2016
  • The Heart Story

Stuff the Bus:

Applause to United Way of Cascade County (MT) for their annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign! This campaign helps provide school supplies and other essential items for low-income families in Cascade County. More information can be found HERE.

It’s always great to help kids!

GFPS Facilities Tour:

Salute to Great Falls Public Schools Superintendent Tammy Lacey for providing information to the public about the 2016 facility plan and bond levy request.

This is a major investment in our community. Lacey and the school board should be commended for their work in providing plenty of information for the public to review.

There will even be a bus tour to see the schools. More information about the bus tour can be found HERE, and more information about the whole plan can be found HERE.

10th Street Bridge:

It was great to read that the historic 10th Street Bridge in Great Falls is getting closer to completion. One of the major reasons for the bridge still being in Great Falls and being repaired is Arlyne Reichert.

Reichert is a fantastic lady who is on a mission to save the bridge.

Richard Ecke of the Great Falls Tribune provides an update about the bridge, plus he writes about the life of Reichert in his weekly “Spray of the Falls” column. You can see the column HERE.

Decision America Tour 2016:

In case you missed this in my Sunday column, today (Tuesday) the Decision America Tour 2016 stops in Helena at the state capitol. The event starts at noon.

The Decision America Tour is part of Christian evangelist Franklin Graham’s ministry. Franklin Graham is the son of famed evangelist, Billy Graham.

According to the Decision America Tour website:

Franklin Graham is traveling to all 50 states in 2016 to hold prayer rallies, to preach the Gospel, and to challenge believers to take a stand and take action. He’ll be urging Christians to vote, to live out their faith in every part of their lives, and to pray for our nation just as Nehemiah cried out to God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore hope to His people.

You can visit the Decision America Tour website HERE.

The Heart Story:

Get the tissues ready…CBS News reported about a bride who lost her father 10 years ago. She asked the man who received his heart to walk her down the aisle.

Watch the video HERE.

  1. I have always thought w needed a “good news only” column, report, show, something. That there had to be enough good news out there to report on instead of the depressing stuff that is out there ALL the time. This is wonderful. I’m in Portland, Oregon and received this as a post on Google + from a friend. Delightful!

    • DeAnna – Thank you. I write six columns per week, so I thought at least one could be about good news, so I picked Tuesdays to post it! There is a website dedicated just to good news. You can find it at goodnewsnetwork.org. -JmB
