Terrific News Tuesday

There are basically two types of people. People who accomplish things, and people who claim to have accomplished things. The first group is less crowded. – Mark Twain

Hey kids – welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Give Local/Montana Gives
  • School Board Elections
  • West Bank Landing – Great Falls
  • On The Road
  • Primary Day

Give Local/Montana Gives:

This is taking place TODAY (May 3). What is it? According to their website:

Give Local America is a single-day crowdfunding event that betters our communities through local charities. This is the one day each year when Americans come together to support their local nonprofits who work tirelessly to keep their communities vital and strong. Join your neighbors in providing critical funding for the causes that matter most in your local community.

School Board Elections:

In many places across Montana, today is the local school board (school trustee) election, so don’t forget to vote if there’s a school trustee election in your area.

Here in Great Falls, seven people are running for three spots on the school board. Thanks to each for wanting to serve. Best of luck!

West Bank Landing – Great Falls:

Applause to the local folks who are planning on developing West Bank Landing in Great Falls. This development was very much needed in the area.

The Great Falls Tribune has the details HERE.

On The Road:

Here’s another heart-warming story from Steve Hartman’s “On The Road” segment at CBS News. This one is called, “Judge gives former soldier unusual sentence for probation violation.”

Watch/read it HERE.

Primary Day:

Is this a great country or what? It’s primary election day in Indiana – with 57 GOP delegates and 92 delegates up for grabs for the Democrats.

The polls are saying that Donald Trump should win on the GOP side. On the Democrat side, it looks like Hillary Clinton may win, but the contest between her and Bernie Sanders may be close.
