Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts. – Daniel Patrick Moynihan
It’s pretty much a turn-off for most folks (me included) when Christians say that how they interpret a passage in the Bible is fact – as if there’s no wiggle room – and that you are wrong if you disagree.
That’s one of the problems with Christians today.
I’ve seen several verses of the Bible that 20-30 years ago meant one thing to me and today they mean something different.
I always take what a pastor, reverend, or priest preaches as how they interpret what God is telling them. What they say the scripture says may mean something different to me.
There are passages in the Bible that scholars disagree about the meaning even to this day.
That’s why reading the Bible is exciting – you never know how God will speak to you – so keep reading and keep praying for God to show you what it means in your life!
Give a warm welcome to any brother who wants to join you, even though his faith is weak. Don’t criticize him for having different ideas from yours about what is right and wrong. – Romans 14:1 (TLB)
