As we get closer to Election Day 2012, The Western Word will take a look at some of the campaign ads that are hitting the airwaves.
Today, I take a look at three ads! First there’s a local (Montana) ad from the Montana Hunters and Anglers Action against Congressman Denny Rehberg, then I check out a new Herman Cain ad that has people talking, and finally there’s one from Rick Perry about jobs.
Of course, there’s also some commentary about each…
Montana Hunters and Anglers Action
The Montana Hunters and Anglers Action have come out with a 30 second advertisement against Congressman “Dennis” Rehberg and his support of H.R. 1505. I guess they think calling him “Dennis” will bother him…
Basically, if you are a fan of duct tape, you’ll like this video. Too bad they had to do the voiceover. Major applause goes out to the fellow who put the duct tape on his mustache…
Lee Newspapers reported about the ad so the group can call it successful since they have a major Montana newspaper’s attention (and this website!). Mike Dennison (Lee Newspapers reporter) wrote, “A Montana hunting-and-angling group with Democratic ties has made a large TV ad buy…”
The ad is supposed to run for three weeks. Congressman Rehberg has announced that he is running for U.S. Senate in 2012 against U.S. Senator Jon Tester. Here is the video:
Herman Cain
One thing for sure, Herman Cain is gaining traction as a GOP Presidential candidate. In fact, the latest CBS News/New York Times poll has Cain leading the GOP field.
Herman Cain’s Chief of Staff Mark Block talks about Cain’s Presidential Campaign in a video that received a lot of attention because Block blows some smoke in it. Block says Herman Cain will put the “United” back in America while a song “I am America’ plays. Here it is:
Rick Perry
Rick Perry has a new ad out where he claims he will create 2.5 million jobs and he says he created over one million jobs while the rest of the nation was losing jobs.
This is not quite as powerful as his ad from a month ago called, “Proven Leadership” but creating jobs is the most important thing in this election (right now). Perry has struggled lately, but he has a lot of money for this campaign. Let’s take a look at his latest ad:
