Caught My Eye…

I ain’t as good as I once was,
My how the years have flown,
But there was a time,
Back in my prime,
When I could really hold my own
– As Good As I Once Was (Scott Emerick /Toby Keith)

If you are a first-time visitor, CME is posted right here every Friday morning. This is when I take a look at some of the stories I did not have time to write about during the week. I often throw in a touch of sarcasm to make you smile – or to irritate you just a little – maybe both.

Topics that I am providing commentary about today include my observations from Tuesday’s Primary Election, Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards, August Recess, Plagiarism, and One More Thing!

Final Super Tuesday Analysis

Election night is kind of like the Super Bowl to political junkies like me. Thanks to all those who texted, emailed, tweeted and re-tweeted The Western Word last night. It was fun – let’s do it again in November!

One thing was pretty evident as the races unfolded last night: The candidates who sent their bumper stickers to The Western Word did well on Primary Election Day.

Thanks to all the people who ran for elective office – you make this country great. All the results are still unofficial.

Here are some results and comments about Cascade County Elections, Montana Supreme Court #3 (Juras, Sandefur, & Mills), Public Service Commission #2 (Bushman vs. O’Donnell), SD-10 (Fitzpatrick vs. J.C. Kantorowicz), HD-19 (McKamey vs. Pinocci), HD-20 (Anderson vs. Buck), HD-22 (Sheldon-Galloway vs. Loney), Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders.

Cascade County Republicans: A Mini Circus

The Great Falls Tribune published a story earlier this week about the Cascade County (MT) Republican Central Committee “quarrelling” within their ranks.

It was such a big ——- deal that not one but two political science professors were interviewed for the story. It’s worth a few chuckles if you want to read it. Click HERE.

The article began with State Representative Wendy McKamey who has decided to run for a different legislative seat (HD-19) which is currently held by State Representative Randy Pinocci. McKamey lives in HD-19 but she represents HD-23 (my district) in the state legislature.
