Welcome to “Thursday Numbers!” In case you’re a first-time visitor, this is the weekly column where I take a look at the numbers that are in the news (in descending order) and provide commentary sometimes sprinkled with sarcasm and humor.

Caught My Eye…

Congratulations on making it to Friday!

“Caught My Eye” is posted every Friday morning! This is when I take a quick look at some of the stories I did not have time to write about during the week. I often throw in a touch of sarcasm just to make you smile – or to irritate you just a little. Basically, nothing is off-limits!

Thursday Numbers

We made it Thursday – Congrats!

If this is your first time visiting The Western Word, “Thursday Numbers” is my weekly column where I take a look at the numbers in the news (in descending order) and provide commentary sometimes laced with just a little sarcasm.

Campaign 2012: DNC Convention

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) started yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina, and there were some great speeches delivered throughout the afternoon and into the evening.  If you like great speeches it was well worth watching!

Today I write about the debt, Nancy Keenan, Julián Castro, Michelle Obama, Denise Juneau, the Brian Schweitzer sideshow, and much more.

Hey – you’ve made it through another week and we made it through January! Congratulations! February will be much better and it’s one of my favorite months because it was the month in which I was born.
