The Sunday Message

President Trump has nominated a stunningly successful individual. You’ve watched the fight, you’ve watched the tactics, but here’s what I want to tell you, in the very near future Judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court. – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

Those were comforting words on Friday (Sept. 21) from McConnell for the attendees of the Values Voter Summit being held this weekend in Washington, D.C.

McConnell also told those in attendance to “Keep the faith. Don’t get rattled by all of this. We’re gonna plow right through it and do our jobs.”

The Values Voter Summit is an annual event and according to their website:

Values Voter Summit was created in 2006 to provide a forum to help inform and mobilize citizens across America to preserve the bedrock values of traditional marriage, religious liberty, sanctity of life and limited government that make our nation strong.

If you are a conservative, this is the place to speak. You can see who is speaking at the event by clicking HERE. Speakers this year range from Vice President Mike Pence to actor Dean Cain.

Next week will be interesting with regard to the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.

We’ll see how faith plays a role in it.

In a democracy, dissent is an act of faith. – J. William Fulbright

Have a great week!

Taking a Moment…

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. – Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Sunday Message

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have always admired that quote by Dr. King. If you are like me, then you’ve probably found your faith weak at some point in your life – and you knew you needed to take that first step, but just couldn’t.

Sometimes in this life all we have is our faith.

It’s during these times that we need to ask God to help us because we can’t do it alone. God hears from people all the time who wait until things are really bad in their lives before they ask for help.

No matter your situation, the lines to God are always open – so take that first step and ask for God’s help. Help is just a prayer away.

The Sunday Message

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up…To more than I can be.

-“You Raise Me Up” By Josh Groban

Martin Luther King, Jr., once said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

I have stairs in my house. Although I have used them for years, sometimes at night when I take that first step into the dark stairwell, I am cautious and nervous. In my mind I wonder if I am stepping down correctly or will I miss the step and fall into the darkness.  My faith is lacking in that situation.

So I purchased a motion-activated light to help me. Now when I take that step a light comes on and startles me!

Although my “stairs” situation is little different from what Dr. King was talking about, it is important that we stand strong in the faith knowing that God loves us and will take care of us.  I have faith that God will be there even during the darkest times.
