MONTANA FREE PRESS POLLS:

The MAGAs in Montana were upset when a Montana Free Press-Rutgers Eagleton poll showed the race for Congress in Montana’s Western District between Republican Aaron Flint and Democrat Sam Forstag was a dead heat. 

The Montana Free Press (MTFP) reported that Flint, a Republican, drew 42% of the vote when 375 registered voters were asked who they would vote for if the election were held today. Forstag, a Democrat, drew 41% of the vote. Nick Sheedy, a Libertarian, drew 5%. 

So the MAGAs attacked the poll as not being legit, blah, blah, blah. 

The stars are aligning in the Western District for an upset. High gas and diesel prices, high grocery prices, a war with no end, and a people wanting to put a stop to Trump and his idiotic leadership just might give Forstag an advantage over Flint, who is supported by President Trump.  

In the Eastern District, the Montana Free Press-Rutgers Eagleton poll shows it is U.S. Representative Troy Downing’s race to lose. 

The MTFP reported:

According to the poll, 48% of registered voters residing in the eastern district, which includes Great Falls, Helena, Billings and Miles City, said they would vote for Downing if the election were held today, while 26% said they would vote for Brian Miller and 9% said they would vote for independent candidate Michael Eisenhauer, a Great Falls cardiologist. Another 5% said they would support Libertarian candidate Patrick McCracken. The remainder did not identify a preference.  

I’ve always predicted a Downing win, but he won’t be getting my vote—even though I live in his district. The issue? He is entirely locked in step with Trump. Sadly, as long as he keeps feeding the MAGA base and that movement stays viable, he’s practically guaranteed a permanent lease on this seat.

COST OF THE IRAN WAR: 

The Hill is reporting that the Pentagon told Congress last month that the cost of the Iran war has now climbed to more than $42 billion — a $4.5 billion increase to the most recent public estimate from the Defense Department more than six months into the conflict. 

After reading this article, the lyrics to the famous 1970 anti-war protest song “War” by Edwin Starr came to mind:

Now, there are reports that the United States is running out of munitions. The United States is facing strategic inventory shortfalls in advanced missile interceptors and precision-strike weapons due to high expenditure in the ongoing war with Iran. (Source) (Source)

Trump has put the United States in one hell of a predicament.

VOTING BY MAIL:

I cannot wait to get my ballot in the mail, fill it out, and mail it back. It’s like I am sticking it to the man, and that man is Donald Trump. 

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that the Supreme Court on Monday rejected President Donald Trump’s bid to restrict mail ballots for the midterm elections, capping a flurry of last-minute legal action with voting already underway. 

Trump took to social media to voice his displeasure with the ruling. He singled out the Justices whom he nominated (they sided with rejecting Trump’s bid to restrict mail ballots).  

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME:

A faithful reader recently commented that I’m putting a lot of “effort” into “enhancing Trump Derangement Syndrome.” 

Honestly, I think the real derangement in this country is the collective gaslighting—people looking straight at Trump’s track record and pretending it’s normal. His behavior isn’t normal, and it never has been. It’s funny how pointing out documented facts is dismissed as a “syndrome.” If holding a president accountable to his own words makes critics “deranged,” what does blind obedience make his followers?
