BOBCATS/GRIZ 2.0:

What is probably the biggest football game in Montana history, the Montana Grizzlies play the Montana State Bobcats in Bozeman on Saturday. The winner of this semifinal playoff game will go to the FCS National Championship game. 

ABC is scheduled to televise the game. It begins at 2:00 p.m. 

TESTING THE WATERS?

I received a sale ad in the mail over the weekend about the “Sell-off of the Century” at Rimrock Snowy Mountains in Lewistown, Montana. 

I don’t normally pay attention to these ads, but the ad announced a “grand opening under new ownership! Tony Pierce is back!!” (Source)

Then at the bottom of the page, it looked like another photo of Pierce with the caption, “Should he run for Congress?” (Source)

If a customer says “yes,” do they get a bigger discount?   

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:

My Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday when they lost to the LA Chargers, 16-13. 

So now those who hate the Chiefs can shut up for a few months. 

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL toward the end of the game. Those injuries usually take 6-9 months to recover. 

I have been a Chiefs fan since the 1960s and pretended to throw passes from Lenny Dawson to Otis Taylor in the backyard for touchdowns. I have attended many Chiefs games at Arrowhead in person – the loudest stadium in the NFL. I won’t be going anywhere! 

We have had a great run the past few years, with 10 years in a row of making the playoffs and seven consecutive seasons being in the AFC Championship game. They have three Super Bowl rings during that time, making them have four Super Bowl wins altogether. 

The boys are just tired. They have played an extra 25 games during their 10-year run in the playoffs, which is about one and one-half extra seasons.  

ILHAN OMAR CONSPIRACY:

President Donald Trump and the MAGAs are bound and determined that U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar married her brother at some point. 

The Omar conspiracy is not quite as big a deal as the fake news around former President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, or that the feds are gassing us with chemtrails, or pizzagate.

It does mirror the Obama birth certificate conspiracy in that it is based on racism. There’s a lot of hatred thrown at her. 

Omar is very well-liked in her congressional district. She won her last race with 74% of the vote, and since 2018, she has won with 64-78% of the vote. 

Several fact-checking sites have found the married her brother rumor “has no basis in truth” and “lacks credible evidence.” (Source)
