The Monday Memo

Greetings! Here are the topics for today’s column:

  • No Kings Rally
  • Partisan Messages
  • This Week – Forums
  • Update – Still There
  • One More Thing

NO KINGS RALLY:

There were reports of over 2,000 people at the “No Kings” rally in Great Falls on Saturday. (Source) I was there proudly flying my American Flag! I heard there were 31 events in Montana alone. (Source)

The Great Falls event was held near the U.S. Federal Court House, and participants lined both sides of the Central Avenue West bridge. People were friendly, and many of the signs and costumes were funny.

I posted some photos on The Western Word Facebook page HERE and HERE

Nationally, there were an estimated 7 million people attending events. (Source) Now we need to come together to use this power to vote out the MAGAs. I think the MAGAs, led by Donald Trump, are ruining our country.

These rallies bothered Trump and his people. Trump posted a video on social media of himself with a crown on, flying a jet, and bombing people with feces. Yes, feces – from the President of the United States of America. (Source

Trump has taken the United States down the toilet. I am ashamed of our President.

PARTISAN MESSAGES:

Several federal government agencies are posting partisan messages on their websites during the shutdown.

KRTV in Great Falls is reporting on the issue:

In a move that has ignited debate over the boundaries of government communications, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has posted a banner on its homepage reading:

“Due to the Radical Left Democrat shutdown, this government website will not be updated during the funding lapse. President Trump has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people.”

I am a former federal employee, and I would never allow anyone under my supervision to post anything like that on a taxpayer-funded website. I think it is a violation of the Hatch Act.

The Trump Administration violated the Hatch Act many times in its first term. (Source) Now, they don’t care.

You can read about the Hatch Act HERE

THIS WEEK – FORUMS:

Mark your calendars – There are two Great Falls Municipal Election candidate forums scheduled for this week (that I am aware of).

According to KRTV, the Great Falls Neighborhood Council #5 Candidate Forum will be on (TODAY) Monday, October 20, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Alliance For Youth auditorium (3220 11th Avenue South). Doors open at 6:40 p.m.

The forum will also be broadcast live on the Neighborhood Council 5 Facebook page.

On Wednesday, October 22, The Electric, KRTV, and KFBB are teaming up to moderate a forum with candidates for mayor and city commission.

It will be held in the Cordingley Room in the basement of the Great Falls Public Library from 6-8 p.m. For more information, click HERE

UPDATE – STILL THERE:

This is an ongoing report about a dead deer on a city street in Great Falls.

Last Tuesday, I wrote about taking my daily walk last Thursday (Oct. 9) and seeing a dead deer partially on the road within the city limits. I noted the location (23rd St. S. by MSU-GF) and when I arrived home, I called the non-emergency police department number. I gave the officer the location. He told me he would notify Animal Control.

As of 2:00 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 19), the deer was still there.

ONE MORE THING:

Damn Liberals – Always wanting to breathe clean air, drink clean water, treat the sick, and not get shot by assholes with assault weapons.

  1. Saw a pic of a placard at one of the rallies that summed up the entire rationale of the protest in just 9 letters:

    OMG

    GOP

    WTF
