Welcome! Here are the topics for today’s common-sense commentary:
- Jimmy Kimmel Live
- Montana Democrats
- One More Thing
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE:
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has been a thorn in Donald Trump’s side for several years. On Wednesday, ABC announced that Kimmel would be suspended indefinitely because of the following remarks:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
You can see the full monologue HERE.
I don’t think those comments or the monologue were the reason for suspending the show, but they were just the final straw. Kimmel has angered Trump for a long time.
On social media, President Donald Trump applauded the move:
Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! We might as well face it, fellow citizens, President Trump has thin skin. He wants us to have free speech as long as it’s the free speech he agrees with.
These are dangerous times.
MONTANA DEMOCRATS:
Just days after the new leadership was elected by the Montana Democrats, Vice Chair Max Johansen resigned.
The Montana Democratic Party Chair, Shannon O’Brien, released the following statement regarding the resignation of Vice Chair Max Johansen from the Montana Democratic Party Executive Board:
“This morning, I accepted the resignation of Max Johansen, creating a vacancy on the Montana Democratic Party Executive Board.
Mr. Johansen resigned after acknowledging that certain comments he made following the Convention were disruptive and inconsistent with the direction of the Executive Board.” (Source)
Several sources reported that the resignation was because of his criticism of former U.S. Senator Jon Tester.
It was reported that Tester fired back at the criticism. The Helena Independent Record reports:
“I am not a Max Johnson [sic] Democrat,” Tester said. “I think the Democrats have a fox in the hen house, and if they don’t clean it up, there won’t be any eggs to pick.” He went on to criticize Johansen for only recently moving to Montana, calling him a “clown” and saying that he “doesn’t know jack s—.”
“This guy’s a clown and he doesn’t know what he’s doing,” Tester added. “And it’s not because he’s been critical of me, I don’t really care about that. It’s because if you read what he says, he ain’t a Democrat. They’ve got a fox in the hen house; they need to get it fixed.”
Sounds like Tester still has a little power!
The political parties in Montana are having a hard time keeping their members in line. Earlier this year, the Montana Republicans had some problems. (Source)
It’s too bad you must be a member of one of these two political parties to get elected or even run for office in Montana.
ONE MORE THING:
If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all. -Noam Chomsky
## END ##

For low rated shows, Trump sure seems to spend a lot of time watching them.
