DEPARTMENT OF WAR:

This is not a joke…

Reuters is reporting that President Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order on Friday to rename the Department of Defense the “Department of War,” a White House official said on Thursday, a move that would put Trump’s stamp on the government’s biggest organization.

Reuters also reported that the U.S. Department of Defense was called the War Department until 1949, when Congress consolidated the Army, Navy and Air Force in the wake of World War Two. The name was chosen in part to signal that in the nuclear age, the U.S. was focused on preventing wars, according to historians.

This is a waste of money and resources. There are more important issues facing our country than renaming a federal agency. 

I wonder if Trump thought about renaming it the Department of Offense?

KENNEDY TESTIFIES:

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is a nutjob. He testified in front of the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance on Thursday. He took heat from both sides. In between answering questions, viewers could hear Kennedy breathing into the microphone. It sounded like a pig wallowing in mud. 

The Associated Press (AP) reported:

A contentious three-hour hearing between U.S. senators and Robert Kennedy Jr. devolved into multiple screaming matches on Thursday as the nation’s health secretary fended off accusations about sweeping changes he’s made to vaccines, health care policy and leadership.

The AP also fact-checked Kennedy:

U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made myriad false and misleading claims on Thursday as he fielded questions examining his seven-month tenure leading the nation’s health agencies at a contentious three-hour hearing.

Kennedy ignored government data, twisted legislation and pointed to unsubstantiated treatments while addressing topics such as COVID-19 vaccines, rural hospitals and school shootings.

DEMOCRAT HOAX?

In case you missed it, President Donald Trump called bipartisan demands to release the Epstein files a “Democrat hoax,” moments after survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse demanded he stop calling it that and made direct, impassioned appeals for his support in their fight. (Source)

Back in July, Trump said the ongoing controversy over his administration’s handling of information related to child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is a “Hoax” and “bullshit,” criticizing members of his own party who are calling for more transparency as “weaklings.” (Source)

Trump has no compassion. 

RED FRIDAY:

Welcome to the first “Red Friday” of the NFL season. Kansas City Chiefs fans call Fridays “Red Friday” when the Chiefs have a game that weekend or Monday. Today, my Chiefs play against the Chargers in Brazil. 

It’s time to get the bitter taste out of our mouths from losing the Super Bowl. I look forward to the Chiefs making another run at a Super Bowl victory this year.
