The Monday Memo

Welcome to March! Here are the topics I am covering today:

  • Zelenskyy & Trump
  • Drag Performers
  • Right-To-Work Bill
  • One More Thing

ZELENSKYY & TRUMP:

I was ashamed and disgusted at the way President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance treated the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during their meeting in the Oval Office on Friday.

The damage Trump and Vance did to our friend in Europe may never be overcome. No country will trust the USA while Trump is the leader.

Trump and Vance disrespected an ally. They basically shit on him in front of the cameras. They talked down to him. Vance said Zelenskyy never said “thank you” to the USA for the help. That was a lie. Zelenskyy has thanked the United States many times. Zelenskyy was slammed for not wearing a suit and tie during the meeting when Elon Musk runs around the White House with no tie and a MAGA hat on.

Trump has called Zelenskyy a dictator, which is not true. Trump said Ukraine attacked Russia when it was Russia who invaded Ukraine.

The Trump Administration has decided to side with Russia over Ukraine. Trump is using Vladimir Putin’s talking points. Putin has to be smiling.

Meanwhile, people are being killed in Ukraine and more people will be killed. Trump has blood on his hands.

DRAG PERFORMERS:

Just when you think it can’t get any crazier at the Montana Legislature, this happens:

On Friday, the public weighed in on House Bill 675 which would allow people to sue drag performances for alleged harm caused to youth from the performance. Supporters say it is needed to protect children, while opponents say it limits free speech and demonizes the drag community. (Source

If we are going the lawsuit route, we should sue the legislature for the harm they cause to the citizens of this great state when they are in Helena.

HB 675 is another stupid bill that will end up being unconstitutional by the courts.

RIGHT-TO-WORK BILL:

I was happy to hear that Senate Bill 376, a bill to Establish a Right to Work Act, died in the Montana Legislature last week.

The Montana Free Press reports:

SB 376, a bill that would have enacted right-to-work provisions across Montana died twice Saturday at the hands of moderate Republicans who crossed the aisle to join Democrats in opposition.

The bill was first voted down in committee when three GOP senators, Jason Ellsworth, R–Hamilton; Gregg Hunter, R–Glasgow; and Denley Loge, R–St Regis, voted against the legislation alongside the committee’s Democratic lawmakers. Hours later, bill sponsor Sen. Mark Noland, R–Bigfork, made a motion on the Senate floor to blast the bill out of committee. Fourteen majority Republicans voted alongside 18 Democrats to stamp out the blast motion

Union Yes!

ONE MORE THING:

It must be exhausting believing scientists, historians, and journalists have dedicated their lives to misleading you, while viewing a reality TV personality, known for decades of fraud and chronic lying, as your only source of truth.
