FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE:

In the 1967 classic movie “Cool Hand Luke” starring Paul Newman, there’s the line, “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate” used by the Prison Captain to justify beating Cool Hand Luke played by Newman.

It appears that Montana Public Service Commissioner Randy Pinocci is suffering from his own “failure to communicate” and it caused him to be arrested. Here is the story…

Several sources, including the Daily Montanan, are reporting that Montana Public Service Commissioner Randy Pinocci was arrested while he shopped for paint at the Home Depot in Great Falls.

Apparently, the arrest warrant said Pinocci failed to appear in court for a disorderly conduct charge in July. MTN News is reporting that Pinocci was charged with disorderly conduct on the evening of July 5 “for quarreling, challenging to fight, or fighting, namely by getting in Leo Jimmerson’s face and bumping chests during an argument and yelling.”

Pinocci was granted a 30-day extension, and then he requested another one. That request was denied, but he and his lawyer contend they were never notified. When he did not appear, a warrant was issued by the judge.

It seems to me the ball got dropped somewhere. While his mug shot is unflattering, Pinocci can now use it to raise money for his next campaign, just like Donald Trump!

BIDEN SHOULD NOT RUN:

David Ignatius is a Washington Post (WaPo) columnist and his opinion piece in the Post today will probably send a few shock waves through the Democratic establishment in Washington. Ignatius writes that “President Biden should not run again in 2024.”

Ignatius says that Biden has had “a remarkable string of wins.” The first one he lists is that Biden defeated President Donald Trump in the 2020 election. For a year or so, I have said that the greatest accomplishment for Biden is that he beat Trump and saved the country.

I think Biden, as well as Trump, are too old to be the President. I’ve said that for a long time.

If Biden takes the advice of Ignatius, who is in the bullpen warming up? I don’t think that Vice President Kamala Harris has the popularity to win. California Governor Gavin Newsom might be too far to the left to win. I’d like to see former First Lady Michelle Obama run, but I doubt that will happen.

So, the Democrats are stuck with old Joe. Stay healthy, my friend.

PUTIN & TRUMP:

Funny as it may seem, Russian President Vladimir Putin is echoing the Republican talking points used in defending former President Donald Trump.

The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that Putin asserted Tuesday that the criminal cases against former U.S. President Donald Trump are political revenge that show the fundamental corruption of the United States.

“As for the prosecution of Trump, for us what is happening in today’s conditions, in my opinion, is good because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others democracy,” Putin said at an Eastern Economic Forum gathering in Russia’s Pacific Coast city of Vladivostok. “Everything that is happening with Trump is the persecution of a political rival for political reasons. That’s what it is. And this is being done in front of the public of the United States and the whole world,” he said.

Next time your MAGA friends spout the MAGA talking points about Democrats prosecuting Trump because he is a political rival, tell them that Vladimir Putin agrees with them. See what they say.
