The Wednesday Read

Quote for the Day…

Surround yourself with people who know your worth. You don’t need many people in your life, just the real ones who appreciate you for exactly who you are. – Unknown

In today’s column, I take a quick look at these people/issues:

  • Ambulance Chaser
  • Trump Statement
  • Brady Retires

AMBULANCE CHASER:

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen reminds me of a lawyer chasing ambulances with all the lawsuits he has filed against the Biden Administration.

Instead of looking for a big payday, Knudsen is looking for publicity and attention for reelection. He is also laying the foundation when he decides to run for other offices.

The other day, MTN News reported that Knudsen joined seven other Republican attorneys general in a lawsuit against the Biden administration over an immigration policy that allows children from select Central American counties to come to the United States to join their families who are lawfully in the country or have pending asylum claims.

I did not know Montana was being overrun by these children. I also thought that Knudsen and the Republicans believed in family and compassion. His actions seem far from it.

I’m not sure how many lawsuits Knudsen has filed in his first year, but it seems like many. The sad thing is we are just beginning year number two, and the ambulance chaser is just beginning to hit his stride.

TRUMP STATEMENT:

Occasionally, I read the statements posted by former President Donald Trump on his website. This one caught my attention a few days ago:

If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had “absolutely no right” to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election? Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and they now want to take that right away. Unfortunately, he didn’t exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!

The GOP may split into the “Team Trump” and “Team Pence” camps and destroy each other. Pence will need to toughen up to withstand Trump’s attacks.

BRADY RETIRES:

Tom Brady retired from the NFL on Tuesday. A few days ago, there were several reports that he was going to retire, but it was not official until Brady announced it on Tuesday. (AP)

I like Tom Brady. Even when he beat my Chiefs. He was a great quarterback (QB), and he had a competitive side like none other. He has seven rings. As a QB, he is the greatest of all time (GOAT).

Brady’s last touchdown pass was a 55 yarder to Mike Evans. Evans threw the ball into the stands. A fan somewhere has a valuable piece of history. (Source)

  1. My opinion on AG Knudsen is he wants to be Governor so bad he can smell it. I believe he realizes Gianforte is not at all interested in being Governor when GG found out it is a really hard job and his millions didn’t mean anything to those hard working folks of this state. Gianforte is finding out it is a real pain to hid out for a year let alone 3 more years. Knudsen thinks GG will not run again so wants to keep his name out front to ward off any competition. If you think Gianforte is a poor governor just wait for Austin Knudsen. Much can happen in 3 years but just my opinion today.

    • I would agree with your assessment. And it is apparent that AG Knudson is looking at Texas Governor Abbott as his role model. For native Montanans who have not drunk the Kool-Aid this is a terrifying concept. However, it does appear that the Trump craziness is waning and we may be able to return to a position where a sane Democratic Governor and a handful of Democratic Legislators can work with the regular Republicans to hold the RWNJs in check. Our problem is the in-migration of folks who do not have traditional Montana values and in most cases more money than sense. If one could break through the Citizen’s United smokescreen I believe it would reveal a high correlation between cash donations to the most corrosive organizations in this country with the owners in the enclaves of the rich in the Montana Club, Rock Creek Ranch, Iron Horse and the rest.

  2. Tom Brady is 6 feet 4; very important. Football is a team sport. Patriots and coach a very good franchise. Tom Brady rose to the occasion. His standard will be difficult to achieve. C.T. E. abounds.

  3. In 2015 my advice was to not listen to anything Trump said. That is still good advice. If you think you should vote for Trump or his minions, examine your premises. To openly advocate for the reversal of a free and fair election (at any level) should be a serious felony. DO NOT VOTE FOR THESE PEOPLE
