Sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences. ― Robert Louis Stevenson
Today’s independent commentary deals with these people/issues:
- MT Governor
- Steve (iPhone)
- Mike Pence
- Ever Notice
- One More Thing
MT GOVERNOR:
MTN News is reporting that as the 2020 general-election race for Montana governor gets under way, Republican candidate Greg Gianforte’s campaign has accumulated almost four times the money of his Democratic competitor, Mike Cooney – but that total includes $1.5 million of Gianforte’s own money.
There’s no surprise here. I look for Gianforte to add at least another million of his own money to his campaign when the polls start showing that he is losing.
Gianforte, Steve Daines (U.S. Senate), and Matt Rosendale (U.S. House) have all hitched their wagons to the Trump train. I think there’s a very real chance that two of the three lose in November. Trump is not as powerful as he was two years ago.
STEVE (IPHONE):
I received one of those classic messages from U.S. Senator Steve Daines late Saturday night. It was him from his iPhone.
In this message, he was talking about the “HUGE” rally in Tulsa, saying:
President Trump held an INCREDIBLE rally in Tulsa tonight.
If there’s one thing that’s clear – it’s that the support for his America First agenda is STRONGER than ever.
I guess the person who wrote the email did not realize only 6,200 people showed up and the rally was called a failure by many. The arena would hold 19,200.
Daines also wanted to make sure that his supporters know:
Let me make one thing very clear – President Trump is ALWAYS welcome in my home state of Montana.
I’m not sure that will always be true. Daines may need to remove his nose from Trump’s butt between now and November to win.
MIKE PENCE:
Trump and his supporters are worried about voter fraud, so I found this article from The Hill interesting:
Vice President Pence and his wife, Karen Pence, voted by mail in Indiana earlier this year using the address of the Indiana governor’s mansion, Business Insider reported.
So the Pences have not lived there since December 2016 and voted by mail several times.
Maybe those who cry fraud the most should look in the mirror.
EVER NOTICE:
- Ever notice that it’s mostly white people who claim something’s not racist
- Ever notice those who say degrees don’t give people common sense don’t have degrees.
- Ever notice those who display and promote the confederate flag are some of the dumbest looking people on earth.
ONE MORE THING:
Hey people – wear a mask when you are out in public.
##END##
Jackie, I think you may be on to something there in the prediction 2 of 3 may lose. My brother who is a strong Republican and lives in very red Eastern Montana told me after the primary that he wouldn’t vote for Gianforte nor Cooney but just leave it blank. He said he was sick of guys like Gianforte buying their office.
Thanks Dennis!
