Clowns in a Circus:

The long 90-day nightmare will soon be over. According to the official Montana Legislative calendar, the 90th day of this session of the Montana Legislature is May 1.

There’s a lot left to do.

One of the big things is they need to approve Medicaid expansion. It’s working well and around 96,000 Montanans are using it.

It would be nice if they toughened up DUI penalties in Montana (see story below).

Then there’s Hanna’s Act that needs to pass.

After passing these pieces of legislation, they could go home as far as I am concerned. I’m sure there are things that I missed.

It seems the leaders in the Legislature are getting a little sloppy – mostly acting like clowns in the circus.

One thing that caught my attention this past week through my Twitter feed was that a Republican leader of Senate Finance and Claims Committee decided he did not need public input (after a public hearing was scheduled) and held a vote. You can read more about the clown move HERE.

Tempers will be getting shorter and the jockeying will get rougher. It will remind a lot of us seasoned people of a Three Stooges episode.

Seventh DUI:

The Great Falls Tribune reported that Chester Wendell Brown, 64, was charged last Wednesday with his seventh DUI and several other traffic violations. By the way, I am not related to Brown.

It should embarrass Montana Legislators that someone is driving on our streets and highways with six drunken driving arrests. I would think someone like Brown would be doing some real time in prison.

A 2018 report from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) said that when it comes to cracking down on intoxicated motorists Montana has the most work to do.

No kidding. With people driving drunk with six DUIs, that is an understatement.

Sanctuary Cities:

Reuters reported that President Donald Trump said on Friday he was considering sending illegal immigrants in the country to so-called sanctuary cities, prompting U.S. mayors to accept such an offer as the battle over border security raged.

On Twitter, Trump said:

Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only…

…The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy – so this should make them very happy!

I heard someone say that would just increase the number of voters who are Democrats in the country!

The President has said there are drug dealers and gang members in the groups of illegal immigrants who are wanting in, so I wonder why he would go ahead and allow them to come into the USA.

We do have a problem at the southern border. It would be nice if the President would act like an adult and work with the Democrats to get something done.

Tiger Woods:

Tiger Woods is the 2019 “Masters” champion. It was a thing of beauty.

I still think there’s a good argument that Tiger Woods is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) when it comes to golf.

Yes, Woods trails Sam Snead by one win for overall PGA tour wins 82-81 and he trails Jack Nicklaus in major golf championships 18-15. (Wiki) Still, I think he deserves the GOAT title.

Woods has had his setbacks. His setbacks were brought on by his personal conduct and because of his physical problems.

We are great at giving people second chances – I think we gave Woods a second chance and he took it. Tiger Woods is good for golf. He makes it worth watching. I imagine the ratings for the Masters will be golden.
