U.S. House (MTAL) Poll Results:

Last week I asked readers, “Who will win the Montana At-Large U.S. House primary for the Democrats?”

The results are:

  • Grant Kier – 60%
  • John Heenan – 20%
  • Kathleen Williams – 12%
  • Jared Pettinato – 8%

Thanks to all who participated!

Sheriff Bob Edwards:

I had a chuckle when I saw one of Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards’ campaign signs.

It’s amazing that here in Montana Edwards can run for re-election as Sheriff-Coroner when the Montana Public Safety Officer Standards and Training (POST) council revoked his basic, intermediate, advanced law enforcement, and coroner certificates. (GF Tribune)

So Edwards is basically running for positions that he is not certified to hold.

If Edwards is reelected he will be as much a joke as Barney Fife was with his one bullet.

Daines & Malmstrom:

It’s good to see that Montana’s Congressional delegation has not forgotten about Malmstrom AFB.

Just recently it was reported that U.S. Senator Steve Daines is urging U.S. Air Force officials to consider Malmstrom Air Force Base as a future site for the B-21 bomber. (GF Tribune)

The frontrunners for the B-21 are Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, and Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. They all have active flying missions – and they all have stronger Congressional delegations.

Although it’s a long-shot for Malmstrom to land the B-21, I applaud Daines for trying.

Johnny Manziel:

I was happy to hear that “Johnny football” signed with the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) Hamilton Tiger-Cats. (SEC Country)

Time will tell if Manziel has learned his lesson. I hope he has – he is fun to watch. I think he will do well in the CFL.
