Today’s read deals with these important issues:
- The Medical Exam
- First Year Approval Ratings
- Missouri Governor Eric Greitens
The President’s Medical Exam:
I was impressed with how much information President Trump’s doctor released from his recent physical. Dr. Ronny Jackson provided a summary and then took questions for almost an hour from the press.
You can read the summary report HERE.
Like many Americans, Trump is overweight and his cholesterol is a little high. His doctor said Trump’s health was rated as excellent. Trump is 71. His height is 6’3” and he weighed 239 pounds.
Sadly, nobody in the press asked the doctor if he thought Trump’s hands were small.
It was also good that the President took a cognitive test and had those results released. He scored a 30/30 according to his doctor on THIS TEST.
Since he did so well on it, we don’t know what the heck is wrong with him.
Maybe we need to have others in Washington take the same cognitive test? I recommend McConnell and Pelosi for the test!
As for Trump, look for more golf in his future – maybe he can use the cart a little less to get more exercise.
First Year Approval Ratings:
The Associated Press recently reported that President Donald Trump is wrapping up a year in office with the lowest average approval rating of any elected president in his first year. (AP)
Trump has a first-year approval rating of 39%. Bill Clinton was 49%. Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan both had 57%.
We’ll see how this plays out. It would be hard for Trump to be reelected with a 39% approval rating.
Missouri Governor Eric Greitens:
Missouri Governor Eric Greitens (R) is in some trouble. The Washington Post reported that accusations emerged in news reports this week that Greitens threatened to blackmail his former hairstylist with whom he was having an extramarital affair. He reportedly threatened to distribute a nude photo he surreptitiously took of her if she ever revealed their relationship.
Greitens is one of those “family man” politicians. His first marriage ended in divorce. He remarried and has two children.
Now several members of the Missouri legislature are calling on Greitens to resign.
I think Greitens should resign and fade from public life. That would save his family from ridicule and embarrassment. This affair and the possible blackmail won’t go away.
