Confidence is going after Moby Dick in a rowboat and taking tartar sauce with you. – Zig Ziglar
Today I take a look at the Gold Star Family, Drunk Driving, the First 100 Days, Presidential Election Polls, Today in My History, and much more!
Gold Star Family:
When I first read the story about a Gold Star Family being booed I found it hard to believe but then I remembered some of the things said during the recent campaign season and figured we’re in for a new normal.
The Associated Press (AP) reported:
The father of a California soldier recently killed in Afghanistan says he felt disrespected and hurt by passengers who booed him and his family when they were on a flight to meet his son’s remains.
Stewart Perry, his wife and daughter were on an American Airlines flight Monday from Sacramento to Philadelphia with a transfer in Phoenix to receive the remains of his son, Sgt. John Perry…
While there is still some disagreement on what exactly happened on that flight, if anyone said anything derogatory to this family, it is a crying shame.
When we stop honoring those who serve and give their lives for our country and their families, we might as well flush our constitution down the toilet.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) released their “Report to the Nation” recently and the state of Montana came in last. (MTN)
Congratulations, Montana. This is another area where our state legislature has failed us.
Read MADD’s report HERE. Then call your state legislator and tell them to support stricter laws against drunk driving.
The First 100 Days:
If you are a frequent reader then you know that during the 2016 election season I subscribed to receive email updates from several campaign groups and politicians.
Just the other day the Trump/Pence campaign sent me a survey to complete asking my thoughts on what I want to see accomplished in the first 100 days.
They give you an issue like, “Begin constructing the wall along the Southern border” and you vote on whether it is “Highly Important” or “Somewhat Important” or “Not Important” or “No Opinion.”
There are 29 questions. By the way, “Begin constructing the wall along the Southern border” was question number one, and “Repeal and replace ObamaCare” was question number two.
You can read the questionnaire HERE.
Presidential Election Polls:
I received a couple of emails from Rasmussen Reports recently telling me they were excited that Real Clear Politics had them finishing second in the final presidential poll leading up to election day.
In the Electoral College Results poll, Rasmussen had Clinton +2. The folks at IBD/TIPP Tracking (Investor’s Business Daily/TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence) came in first and had Trump +2.
You can read the email and make your own decision how great it is that Rasmussen Reports finished second HERE.
To me, it looks like IBD/TIPP Tracking was the winner; all the others were losers.
Today In My History:
On this date in 2009, I attended a movie in a theater for the first time in about four years. The movie was “Blindside.”
I have not been to a movie in a theater since then…
