Terrific News Tuesday

On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it. – Jules Renard

Welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Suicide Prevention Day
  • Candy for Charity
  • On the Road
  • Stolen Car
  • Native American Heritage Month
  • One Week!

Suicide Prevention Day:

Great Falls College MSU will host Suicide Prevention Day events to raise awareness about the risk factors of suicide and to educate people on how best to help those who are at risk from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in Heritage Hall at Great Falls College MSU. (GF Tribune)

Thanks to Great Falls College MSU for addressing this important issue.

Candy for Charity:

Starting Tuesday, November 1st, any unwanted candy can be brought to the Boy Scout Service Center in Great Falls, located at 820 17th Avenue South. The Boy Scouts will then donate the candy to the Great Falls Rescue Mission for their youth program. (MTN)

On the Road:

If you want to know how to be a great skateboarder, Mattie Zufelt is not your man. Sam Suchmann won’t get you into the X Games either. But if you want to know how to form a perfect friendship, these two young men from Rhode Island, both with Down syndrome, can tell you all you need to know. (CBS News)

Stolen Car:

Erin Hatzi thought her red Subaru had been stolen, but then it was returned with a note and gas money.

Native American Heritage Month:

Did you know that November is Native American Heritage Month?

What started at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the establishment and growth of the U.S. has resulted in a whole month being designated for that purpose. (nativeamericanheritagemonth.gov)
