The Sunday Message

Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting. – Franklin D. Roosevelt

I have always thought that if Christians would band together, they could become unstoppable in electing their candidates – if they wanted.

The group called Family Research Council (FRC) sent an email to followers the other day and said that there were 39 million voting-eligible Christians who did not vote in 2012.

FRC is doing a bus tour to try and get more Christians to vote. That’s a good thing.

I don’t always agree with some of the statements coming from FRC. Their mission is to advance faith, family, and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview. I do believe that Christians should vote.

The problem with Christians voting is that there are many different views within Christianity, and most Christians believe their views are correct.

We need to pray for our leaders (even if we did not vote for them). We need to take part in the political process, and the first way to do this is to vote. Click HERE to register.

Another great way to take part in the political process is to volunteer on a candidate’s campaign. Check out the views of a candidate and find one you mostly agree with – then contact them to volunteer.

Voting is a civic sacrament. – Theodore Hesburgh

Campaign 2014: The Fun Begins

As of today, there are 63 days until the November 4 General Election, but probably the most important date for Montana politicians and campaigns is October 6, 2014. That’s the date by which ballots are mailed to electors on the absentee list.

That’s only 34 days from today (or about 816 hours). Here in Montana, more and more voters are mailing their ballots instead of waiting until Election Day.
