If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. – John Quincy Adams
Welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!
In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!
Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:
- Selfless Gift
- Red Ribbon Week
- World Series
- Two Weeks
This past week’s “On the Road” segment was about a bride on her wedding day:
There are always a lot of people to thank on a wedding day, but the bride-to-be at a church outside Chicago had one person to thank over all others: a total stranger who made it possible.
Get the tissues…and watch the segment HERE.
Red Ribbon Week:
This week (October 23-31) is National Red Ribbon Week! According to their website:
Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. In 1988, NFP sponsored the first National Red Ribbon Celebration. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
The first game of 2016 World Series is tonight with the Chicago Cubs taking on the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland. Congrats to the Cubs and Indians.
The Cubs last won the World Series in 1908 and the Indians in 1948.
Ironically, the first World Series game is in Cleveland where the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, kick off the NBA season tonight and receive their championship rings.
It’s a great day for basketball fans as the 2016-17 NBA season kicks off tonight with three games!
The NBA playoffs begin on April 15, and the NBA Finals begin June 1.
Today we are two weeks away from Election Day! Don’t forget to vote.
