Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders and heroes. As the ultimate icon of America’s storied history, the Stars and Stripes represents the very best of this nation. – Joe Barton
Hey faithful readers – welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!
In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!
Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:
- Flag Day
- Montana & Orlando
- Great Falls Public Schools
- Final Primary
In case you forgot, today (June 14) is Flag Day so fly it proudly!
One of the services that our Congressional delegation offers is to provide flags for purchase. You can even have them flown over the United States Capitol. Click on the name of the elected official to go to their Flag order page: U.S. Senator Jon Tester, U.S. Senator Steve Daines, and U.S. Representative Ryan Zinke.
Montana & Orlando:
It was nice to see Montanans hold vigils for the Orlando shooting victims. There were vigils held in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula, and Kalispell. (AP)
We should all stand with Orlando.
Great Falls Public Schools:
Applause goes to the Great Falls Tribune and the Great Falls Public Schools (GFPS) for the question and answer section on the opinion page concerning the $98.8 million school district bond election that will be voted on in October. The first question can be seen HERE.
It’s also good to see GFPS holding a forum (sponsored by the Tribune) this Wednesday about the need for two new elementary schools. They will also be giving tours of one of the schools that will be replaced. More information about the forum can be found HERE.
Great Falls’ Baskin-Robbins:
I was probably a little more excited when KFC reopened in Great Falls, but it’s still very cool that Baskin-Robbins will be reopening their store in Great Falls.
The store is in the Albertsons-Target shopping complex. It reopens June 15.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream…(Song)
In case you forgot, today is the final Presidential Primary! How cool is that? Today residents of the District of Columbia will be voting in the Democratic Primary. The D.C. Republican Primary was held back in March.
Now all that is left are the Republican and Democratic conventions and millions of ads and voting in November…
