Thursday Numbers

Welcome to “Thursday Numbers” and thanks for stopping in! If this is your first time visiting The Western Word, this is my weekly column where I take a look at the numbers in the news (in descending order) and provide commentary sometimes laced with just a little sarcasm.

NOTICE: If you read this column you will probably gain knowledge not found on other websites! You may be able to use this information to impress your family, friends, and co-workers. The information might even be life changing – so consider yourself warned…

This week I write about viewers of the last Presidential debate, Donald Trump, Presidential ads, U.S. Senate ads, selling virginity, the Montana Governor’s race, unemployment, the “You Don’t Own Me PSA,” oil and gas leases in Montana, Katy Perry, Student Debt, Approval ratings, Home Runs, and much more!

Politics 2012: When Tuesday is Monday!

Happy Tuesday!  It will seem like Monday all day – but at least it is a short week for most of you…

I hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend and paused to think about those military men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  My flag was flying proudly!  It’s kind of sad, but Memorial Day during an election year is when the elected officials and the candidates pretend they really care about Veterans.  Since that day is past, most will forget about us until they next election cycle in two years.

Today I write about The Western Word poll results, point/counterpoint, a mistake in the Political Notebook, beating Daines, endorsements, Watchdogs, jockeying, Romney & Veterans, Romney and Mormonism, and much more!

Thanks to all the visitors to The Western Word yesterday, and thanks to all you who took part in the poll!  There’s more information on that below.

Today I talk about a new poll, the baggage ad, Pro-Life/Pro-Choice, Cobell, Great Falls Airport, rebranding, blood for sale, and a lot more so read on!

Politics 2012: MT Governor, MT AG, Money, & Drunks

Welcome!  It’s a cool and rainy (kind of gloomy) Tuesday here at The Western Word (TWW) World Headquarters.  The gloomy weather kind of reminds me of some of the campaigns being run in the state this season!

I have some good news – In just 14 days the Primary Election will be over!  That’s at least enough time for Jon Tester’s campaign to release four more campaign commercials…

Today I write about Lunch at the Lake, loans to campaigns, outside money, drunk driving, clemency, 2014 fundraising, Booker’s damage control, and commencement speeches!  There’s a lot more so read on…

Caught My Eye…

You made it to Friday – Congratulations!  I’m here to help you bring it home and help you slide into your weekend armed with knowledge and a smile!

If this is your first time visiting The Western Word, the “Caught My Eye” column is posted every Friday morning right here!  Here is where I take a quick look at some of the stories I did not have time to write or comment about during the week – and I often throw in a touch of sarcasm just to keep it peppy.

BE ADVISED:  Everyone and everything is fair game…

Today I write about Barack’s girlfriend, Montana Governor and Senate polls, I-166, Montana Attorney General, unemployment, Al Qaeda and Montana, death row, I peek inside my political mailbox and share, I write about flyers in my mail box, I talk about the Veterans for a Strong America video, and I remember Kent State University.  There’s a lot more so read on… Continue reading
