Thursday Numbers

I accidentally wore a red shirt to Target today and, long story short, I’m covering for Debbie this weekend. –Unknown

Caught My Eye…

The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Welcome to the big show to end the week “Caught My Eye” (CME)!

If you are a first-time visitor, CME is posted right here every Friday morning. This is when I take a look at some of the stories I did not have time to write about during the week. I often throw in a touch of sarcasm to make you smile – or to irritate you just a little – maybe both.

Topics that I am providing commentary about today include best of the Montana Blogs for 2017, #Montana tweets for 2017, the sheriff, fake news, and one more thing!

Just Football…

Have you been watching the games?  I have managed to catch all or part of several bowl games and many of them have even been competitive!

We have to pace ourselves because there are about 27 college bowl games left – and there are football games almost every day between now and January 9.  I changed the batteries in my remote so they would not fail me…maybe you should, too.  I have a couple of meat sticks ready to go, plus some cheese and crackers.  The man cave is ready…

By the way, in the NFL pick contest, I managed to go a respectable 10-6 – way out of the Pizza prize (I may just have to buy one because it looks like I am not going to win).

This week I talk about Brees and Brady, more penalties than first downs, a mascot fumbles, the Lions not being cowardly any more, a revenge game, an upcoming championship game, and much more! Continue reading

Just Football…

This past week in the pick the winner (NFL games) contest, I went 8-6.   Just terrible.  I did not think the Chiefs would have that big a letdown after the Chargers game, but they did.   I also figured the Steelers would beat the Ravens in Pittsburgh and that Buffalo would handle the Jets.  Oh well, there’s another week and the games are getting to be more important each week from the NFL all the way down to high school.

This week in “Just Football” I take a look at the some honors in the NFL, an unimpressive performance, Thursday night NFL football, the BCS, Penn State, Mizzou, the Cats and the Griz, and the fighting Saints of Carroll College! Continue reading
