Disclaimer: Don’t try this at home; I am a professional.

Wednesday’s Odds & Ends

Wow – it’s hard to believe that this is the last day of September. At least with October we’ll have some baseball playoffs to watch (if you can find the channel), plus football kicks into high gear. We also have hunting season – so watch out!

By the way, there are about a gazillion new laws taking effect October 1 here in Montana. This is because the Montana legislature circus met in Helena earlier this year. OK, there are not a gazillion new laws, just 165 according to the story from the Associated Press. Some even make sense!

The “Odds & Ends” today include these topics:

  • Sanchez Case
  • Funding the Government
  • Planned Parenthood Hearing
  • Edward Snowden

Cascade County Attorney John Parker: Step Aside

Robynn Dunn is the widow of Cascade County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Dunn, who was killed in the line of duty in August. According to a story in the Great Falls Tribune, she wants someone other than Cascade County Attorney John Parker to prosecute the case.

This week I write about Hot Lotto, unemployment, the President’s speech, closed primaries, a tray of beer, protecting us from terrorism, congressional approval ratings, Adam Sanchez Jr., Ryan Leaf, Enterovirus D68, and much more!

Your free dose of knowledge awaits…

Why? (Part II)

One week ago after Cascade County (MT) Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Dunn was killed in the line of duty during a high-speed chase, we found out that the suspect, Adam Sanchez Jr., had a very long criminal history.

Last Monday, I asked this question:

After reading about Sanchez’s long criminal history from several different sources, I was left wondering why Sanchez was even free to roam our streets. After reading some on-line comments, it appears I am not the only one wondering.

On Saturday and Sunday the Great Falls Tribune did follow-up stories asking basically the same question. You should read these stories HERE and HERE.

What I discovered from the Tribune’s reporting through these Saturday and Sunday stories is that the Cascade County Attorney’s office and a State District Court Judge basically dropped the ball by allowing Sanchez to be freed.

Last Thursday, Cascade County (MT) Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Dunn was killed in the line of duty during a high-speed chase.

Adam Sanchez Jr. is accused of killing Deputy Dunn. He is in custody, and his bond is set at $2 million dollars according to an article in today’s (Monday) Great Falls Tribune.
