It’s always nice when you have dinner with friends like Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, and Sen. Charles Schumer. They, along with Montana’s Max Baucus, reportedly attended a book release party for Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid’s new book at a “swanky” D.C. restaurant.
It appears the book party did not go too well for Montana’s Max. According to Roll Call (subscription needed), Max’s new-looking black BMW suffered some damage.
Roll Call’s Heard on the Hill (HOH) reported:
But outside the chic soiree, there was a collision of a different — and a bit more damaging — sort, when Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) got his car back from the valet service, only to find that it had been scratched. The car, a new-looking, black BMW, was returned to the Senator with several streaky scratches stretching along the rear section of its passenger side.
An HOH tipster spotted an agitated-looking Baucus outside the restaurant filling out paperwork, presumably documenting the incident, while surrounded by five valets.
So, Max Baucus owns a black BMW. I bet that looks nice parked in the driveway of his million-dollar Georgetown DC home. The Western Word wonders if this black BMW is in addition to the silver BMW that Max’s wife drove when she was involved in mulch-gate.
Here’s a suggestion for Max. Max should hire Billy Mays to repair his Beemer. Billy can show Max how to get rid of those scratches quickly for only $19.98. If Max hurries, Billy may throw in a second bottle for the same low price.
Seriously though, John Edwards is right – there are two Americas. Max Baucus lives in a different one than his constituents.
