As I mentioned in my June 6 post, I’d planned a much-needed road trip and stepped away from posting for a while. That trip has since taken a different shape. My wife and I are now in the Midwest, caring for a family member of hers who is in hospice.

Life has a way of rerouting us, and I’m grateful we’re able to be here for her family during this time.

I don’t have a return date yet, but I’ll keep posting political information that you need to know on X (@TheWesternWord) and The Western Word Facebook page.
