2026 CAMPAIGN NEWS:

As of Thursday evening, there were 202 candidates listed on the Secretary of State’s website who have filed for office in Montana. 

Lee Newspapers is reporting that “Early Candidate Filings Signal Heated Primaries Coming for Montana Legislature.” Check out the article HERE (Might be behind a pay wall).

It’s a good thing “The Electric” is reporting about who filed for office in Cascade County. I can’t find a listing on the Cascade County website. If the information is out there somewhere, please point me in the right direction. If it is not, then why not? Click HERE for an update from The Electric.

U.S. SUPREME COURT:

There could be opinions released by the U.S. Supreme Court starting today (Feb. 20) and on Tuesday (24) and Wednesday (25) of next week. (Source) 

STATE OF THE UNION:

President Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. 

Pro-Tip: Watch the lead-up and the actual speech on C-SPAN. You’re smart enough to decide what the President says on your own. 

THE PLANE, THE PLANE:

USA Today is reporting that the U.S. Air Force is rolling out a new paint scheme across its executive airlift fleet, including the next-generation Air Force One aircraft, in a color palette of red, white, dark blue, and gold, the service announced on Feb. 17. Here is a photo of what it may look like. 

Gold? Please. If Trump could figure out how to make the clouds look “gaudy,” he’d have the Secret Service out there with spray cans. I’m sure the cabin will look less like a head of state’s transport and more like a mid-tier Vegas casino that forgot the meaning of “restraint.”

I have told this story before, but it is worth telling again. Several years ago, I was abducted by aliens and rode in a UFO. I was seated between Elvis and Bigfoot. Good times!
