Tuesday’s Quick Hits

Welcome! Here are the topics for today’s column:

  • Breaking Up is Hard to Do
  • Stupid & Nasty
  • Voter Fraud Purge Underway
  • One More Thing

BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO:

U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (former MAGA darling) was on 60 Minutes again Sunday night. (Source) That means that Trump was on Truth Social afterwards to call her names.

Greene is resigning from Congress next month. She claims it is over the Epstein files and how things are not getting done in Washington. Trump called her a “traitor” and “wacky” several times. Greene says she and her family have received death threats.

Trump went on social media after 60 Minutes and said:

The only reason Marjorie “Traitor” Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!).

His attacks are like something we would see in middle school. Very juvenile. Trump is demented.

Trump went on to attack 60 Minutes and correspondent Leslie Stahl.

STUPID & NASTY:

Besides going after Marjorie Taylor Greene, Trump also called another female names.  This time, it was Kaitlan Collins, a CNN reporter.

Trump posted on social media:

Caitlin Collin’s of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more money than originally thought one year ago.

Trump misspelled her first name (should be Kaitlan), and his response on social media was not even to the question that pissed him off.

Trump was due to receive the FIFA peace prize, so she asked, “Mr. President, what would you say to people who say that prize might conflict with your pledge to strike Venezuela?” (Source

Collins is very good at her job. I watch her often. She and other reporters do not deserve the shit that Trump throws at them.

Freedom of the press is very important to our country.

VOTER FRAUD PURGE UNDERWAY:

I saw a post on Facebook from Ken Blackwell that a MAGA friend posted on his timeline about a “massive voter fraud purge” being underway by Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon. (Source)

Blackwell’s key argument is the following:

We now know that more than 260,000 dead people were confirmed on voter rolls across the United States.

We now know that thousands of non citizens were also enrolled to vote in federal elections.

And we now know that this Department of Justice, under Pam Bondi, has launched the most sweeping and aggressive voter roll cleanup in modern American history.

It’s really not that big a thing that voter rolls contain the names of dead people, but the MAGAs want it to be a big thing.

Trump and company want the uneducated MAGA folks to think that 260,000 dead people were voting.

I wondered how many people aged 18 and up die each year in the USA. According to the CDC, in 2023, there were around 3 million deaths in the USA. (Source) I am surprised that only 260,000 were registered to vote.

According to a study by Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), after reviewing 4.5 million voter records in one state over several years found only 14 possible instances where a ballot might have been cast in the name of a deceased person, a rate of about 0.0003%. (Source)

Several reports show that dead people voting is extremely rare.

The MAGAs know that the midterms will be tough on them. They are already trying to gerrymander House districts in several states to pick up votes. When they do lose seats in the midterm, look for the old “election is rigged” excuse to be front and center.

ONE MORE THING:

The guy who discovered milk…what was he doing?
