The Monday Memo

Welcome to December! I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Here are the topics for today’s column:

  • Zinke’s Travels
  • National Guard
  • Donald Trump’s Holiday
  • One More Thing

ZINKE’S TRAVELS:

U.S. Representative Ryan Zinke (R-MT-01) spent part of the Thanksgiving holiday traveling to Doha, Qatar, with four other members of Congress (Source).

According to the same source:

The meeting discussed the close strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America and ways to support and strengthen them. It also discussed regional developments, in addition to a number of topics of common interest.

Right-wing political activist Laura Loomer was not too happy with the delegation’s visit to Qatar. She posted the following on X:

Laurel Lee, Marlin Stutzman, Abraham Hamadeh, Ryan Zinke, and Lance Gooden

These are the US Representatives who spent Thanksgiving in Qatar.

Bizarre isn’t it?

I’m sure they will say they were “visiting the Troops”.

I’d like to know why they went to Qatar.

Qatar is trying to control every member of Congress. This is very alarming.

This comes as Muslims have declared war on America, murdering our service members in cold blood in our nation’s Capitol.

Eventually our lawmakers need to decide what they care about more.

Qatari money, or our national security.

Loomer had a lot more to say about the trip on her X account

I checked Zinke’s official U.S House website and his official social media accounts, and there was nothing posted about his trip.

NATIONAL GUARD:

As you heard, two National Guard members were shot while patrolling the streets in Washington, D.C. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed, and Andrew Wolfe, 24, was critically wounded. My prayers go out to these two and their families, friends, and co-workers.

The alleged shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was from Afghanistan and had settled in the state of Washington. He reportedly was part of a secret unit of Afghans who operated under CIA direction and hunted down Taliban commanders in highly dangerous missions. He did this job for over a decade. (Source

After the identification of the alleged shooter, the blame game quickly kicked into high gear.

Lakanwal came to the United States in 2021 (Biden Admin) in a program called “Operation Allies Welcome.” Lakanwal was considered to be at risk of retribution once the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. Lakanwal would have also been vetted after he applied for asylum in 2024. It was granted in April, during the Trump administration. (Source)

It was also reported that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that officials “believe he was radicalized since he’s been here in this country.”

Some reports say he suffered from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Maybe when the blame game stops, we can get to the bottom of what happened with Lakanwal – but how will we ever know what is fact and what is a cover-up?

DONALD TRUMP’S HOLIDAY:

Gallup polling is reporting that President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has fallen five percentage points to 36%, the lowest of his second term, while disapproval has risen to 60%.

I have a hard time believing that 36% approve of this buffoon’s job.

Trump took some time out over the holidays to attack Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Trump said Walz was “seriously retarded” and suggested Omar “probably came into the USA illegally. (Source)

This was part of Trump’s Happy Thanksgiving message:

As an example, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota. Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for “prey” as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone. The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both, while the worst “Congressman/woman” in our Country, Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc…

How can anyone approve of his actions? Trump has dragged the presidency into the gutter.

In response, Walz said Trump should release his MRI results. The New York Times says that Trump shows signs of fatigue in this article

Trump is still bothered by the auto-pen. He posted the following on social media:

Any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the Autopen, which was approximately 92% of them, is hereby terminated, and of no further force or effect. The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President of the United States.

I will enjoy watching him try to do this. He is just a blowhard.

ONE MORE THING:

Instead of presents this year, I’m giving everyone my opinion! Get excited!

## HAVE A GREAT WEEK ##

  1. Man those are some bad numbers. Getting close to as bad as GW Bush at the end of his two terms (34 61) and Trump himself at the end of his 1st (34 62). And those two bums had a lot longer to work to achieve those lofty lows.

    Low rated!

  2. trumpsky uses the autopen, probably more than Biden. The scary part is that he surrounds himself with vicious xenophobes like Steven Miller and a cadre of people like him. Any thoughts about who else has access to that device? Would “TACO” trump know, or even care, as long as the falsely signed “executive order” was aimed at hurting some group or putting more grift in his family’s pockets?

When you see him elaborately drawing his signature with a sharpie, you know he spent hours upon hours to adopting that style, like a teen-age school girl. Interestingly, professional graphologists have analyzed that signature, and found, “internal vulnerability masked by external displays of confidence and power.”. https://institut-gouvernance.org
