Happy Monday! Here are the topics for today’s column:

U.S. CUSTOMS & BORDER PROTECTION:
I happened to read the story from MTN News about a United Kingdom (UK) citizen being detained in Havre, “despite having a pending marriage-based green card.” The UK citizen, Justin Grzeb, married U.S. citizen Carla Kinney in April.
MTN reported:
The couple had retained an immigration attorney to guide them through the process back in April. They filed their marriage-based green card application in September after collecting the necessary documentation, and according to Carla, Justin had completed his biometrics appointment and all that remained was his required immigration interview, which was due to be scheduled any day now.
Further down in the story, the reason for his detention is probably given: He had a “prior visa overstay.” That means a person previously stayed in a country, in this case the USA, longer than they were legally authorized to stay under the terms of their visa or entry permission, and this overstay is now part of their immigration record/history.
That issue could result in Grzeb being banned from the USA, depending on the length of the overstay. Of course, MTN only has one side of the story, as CBP did not return their call for comment.
I do believe that CBP and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) need to provide details about their arrests. People may understand how they are operating better, although many will not agree with their tactics.
I have no problem with aliens and/or immigrants who have broken the law, being detained, and a judge deciding the outcome. Sometimes a judge has already ruled, and the person chose not to follow the ruling and stayed in the country or left and returned illegally. They should be banned for life.
DAINES IN TROUBLE?
I received a fundraising email from the Steve Daines for Montana campaign, which said:
Montana Senator Steve Daines is in trouble! He was the architect behind the Republican Senate Majority that passed President Trump’s America First agenda.
Leftist megadonors from CA and NY are lining up to defeat him and turn Montana blue!
I received a good chuckle from reading the email. I’m sure some older person in Montana will read this and get out their checkbook and write a check to Steve Daines because they don’t want the “commies” taking over and turning Montana blue!
The biggest problem I see for Daines is his bromance with Donald Trump. I think we are seeing a change in how the MAGAs are perceived, but since Montana is always a few years behind, Daines may be fine.
MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE:
The breakup between Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) and Donald Trump took a new turn Friday evening, when Greene announced she was resigning from Congress in January. She said her last day would be January 5, 2026.
Breaking up is hard to do. Greene and Trump have been sparring for a while over the Epstein files.
I don’t know if MTG will keep her word. Like most politicians, she craves attention, and she received a lot of attention on Friday evening and over the weekend.
There are some issues in the MAGA world these days. The 2026 midterm elections don’t look too favorable for the MAGAs, and that is wonderful news for our country.
READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
It’s getting to be that time of year when football games are being played most days of the week.
Besides Monday Night Football tonight, this Thursday, there are three NFL games. There is also an NFL game on Friday afternoon. (Schedule)
Major college football is starting to wind down. The Bowl season starts December 13 with the College Football Playoffs beginning December 19. (Schedule)
The FCS playoffs start this Saturday. Both Montana State and Montana received first-round byes. Montana State is seeded #2, and Montana is seeded #3. The top seed is North Dakota State. (Bracket)
The NAIA Football Championship is in the second round. #14 Carroll College will visit #3 Montana Tech this Saturday. (Source)
Is this a great country or what?
ONE MORE THING:
To all the people who always said I’d never amount to anything because of my procrastination: Just you wait.
## HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK ##
