PASTA WITH RED SAUCE:
KRTV in Great Falls is reporting that some of the inmates at the Cascade County Detention facility were served food that was contaminated with blood from a food-service employee.
According to the reporting, while meals were being prepared for inmates at Station 2 in K, J, H, and G Blocks, an inmate who was helping to serve meals in coordination with Summit Correctional Services (SCS) accidentally contaminated a serving tray of pasta with human blood from a nosebleed.
KRTV also reports that Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said that the SCS kitchen supervisor stopped the inmate from discarding the food, reprimanded the inmate, and returned the contaminated tray to the serving line. The supervisor then placed utensils in the contaminated tray and instructed inmates to “scoop around” the blood-contaminated food while continuing meal service.
I wonder what they are using for Parmesan cheese…

SHEEHY MISSED VOTES UPDATE:
The Western Word reported in yesterday’s column about U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) missing two votes on Tuesday, October 7.
Upon further review, the votes were more important than normal for Montana.
The first vote (#547) Sheehy missed on October 7 was to confirm the U.S. Attorney for the District of Montana. PN141-3 Kurt Alme, of Montana, to be United States Attorney for the District of Montana, for the term of four years. The final vote was 51-47-2. (Source)
The second vote (#548) Sheehy missed on October 7 was to overturn the Biden administration’s Miles City Resource Management Plan Amendment (RMPA) that made nearly 2,000,000 acres unavailable for coal leasing within the Miles City Field Office planning area and prohibited new coal leasing in the Powder River Basin. According to U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), it also would have caused the loss of over $4.32 billion in future revenue to State trust land beneficiaries. The final vote was 50-47-3. (Source)
Sheehy may say he supports these bills, but he did not vote for them. He owes Montana an explanation.
CHILDREN OF GAZA:
The CBS Evening News did a segment about the impact of the war on the children of Gaza.
CBS News reports that a child dies every hour in Gaza — young lives cut short, and others forever changed by catastrophic injuries and loved ones dying. Debora Patta reports.
Check out the video report HERE. Please pray for peace.
ONE MORE THING:
I used to be a people person, but then people ruined it.
