CITY OF WHITEFISH:
According to a press release from Upper Seven Law, on Monday, Beker Rengifo Del Castillo filed an action against the City of Whitefish and its employees for violating his constitutionally protected civil rights.
In the complaint, Upper Seven Law contends that on April 24, 2025, Whitefish police officer Michael Hingiss pulled Beker over, purportedly for a broken taillight. Beker entered the United States legally under humanitarian parole and lives in Flathead County. When Hingiss stopped him, Beker presented a valid, unexpired REAL ID compliant driver’s license along with valid vehicle registration and insurance documents. Beker has no criminal history and has never been subject to any federal detainer or order of removal.
Furthermore, Upper Seven Law claims that Hingiss delayed the traffic stop to call CBP, further delayed the stop until CBP arrived, and kept Beker detained until CBP took him into custody. Beker was then wrongfully held at an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington, for nearly a week. He was ultimately released without explanation.
If this information is correct, this is where the “round up” of illegals has gone off the rails. It appears this man was in compliance, and it took CBP a week to figure it out. As for the initial stop, just because someone looks different than most Whitefish residents, that does not mean you can detain them for no apparent reason.
As for arresting and deporting people who are in this country illegally, I am still very much in favor of it.

BEST STATES TO LIVE IN:
With around 7.8% of Americans having moved according to the latest data, slightly less than the year before, the personal-finance website WalletHub released its report on “2025’s Best States to Live In.”
To help Americans settle down in the best and most affordable place possible, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 51 key indicators of livability. They range from housing costs and income growth to the education rate and quality of hospitals.
For those keeping score at home, Montana came in #15.
The top 5 states to live in are:
- Massachusetts
- Idaho
- New Jersey
- Wisconsin
- Minnesota
It looks as though Idaho was the only red state in the top five. Wisconsin is kind of a toss-up. (Source)

MILITARIZING THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA:
It was a circus atmosphere on Monday when President Donald Trump, along with many members of his cabinet, announced that he was taking control of the District of Columbia’s police and deploying the National Guard. (Source)
According to reporting in The Hill, the Home Rule Act of 1973, which gives the District its current measure of autonomy, provides for a president taking emergency control of the D.C. police for 48 hours. During that period, a president who wishes to extend control is supposed to provide the reasons for that decision to the chairs and ranking members of House and Senate committees with responsibilities for the District.
Doing this enables presidential control for 30 days. Any extension beyond that, the statute says, can only come if “the Senate and the House of Representatives enact into law a joint resolution authorizing such an extension.”
As I said, the press conference was like a circus with Trump being the leading clown. He said D.C. was a slum and squalor and that drugged-out maniacs are taking over Washington, D.C. He wants to get rid of the homeless – kind of get them out of sight, out of mind, like foreign dictators do when someone visits their country.
Trump said Democrats should support him because they get mugged, too. Trump went off script and also threw in the line that “Democrats want everybody transgender.” Trump also said that he was meeting Putin in Russia. The Bulwark reported it this way:
Trump: “I’m going to see Putin. I’m going to Russia on Friday.”
Trump is going to Alaska on Friday — which has not been part of Russia since 1867.
Maybe he was channeling Sarah Palin…
Trump is too old to be President.
Attorney General Pam Bondi bravely said, “Crime is ending in D.C. today.” She is now in charge of the D.C. police force.
I thought that everyone who committed a crime in D.C. received pardons. I guess that was just for MAGA people.
You can bet that if he could, Trump and his people would use the military in other capacities. It’s creeping that way. For what it’s worth, I asked Google AI if dictators used the military on their people. Here is the answer:
Yes, dictatorships, especially military dictatorships, frequently use the military against their own populations to maintain power. This can involve suppressing dissent, quashing rebellions, and enforcing the dictator’s will through force.
Get ready for the military to be deployed in 2026 for midterm elections – just to make sure things go the MAGA way.
God bless America!
ONE MORE THING:
Things that keep me awake at night:
How do Amish girls know if it’s a romantic candlelit dinner and not just a regular dinner?
## THE END ##

Two predictions:
trumpsky is a loose cannon, even among his own sycophants. Vance is as vicious and goofy, but he’s a lot more biddable. My prediction is that trumpsky just won’t wake up some morning before the ’28 election cycle, and Vance will run as “the incumbent.”
Even if the next two elections return sanity and integrity to the executive, it’ll still take an entire generation to repair the damage the MAGAts are causing.
Thank you. Interesting scenario. You are correct in that it will take a long time to recover from MAGA. -JmB
While I agree that Trump’s motivation regarding the takeover of the DC police force and employing both National Guard troops and the US military is related to his Epstein problems, I believe that this is just and extension of the “camel’s nose under the tent operations by whomever is actually running our current government. The creators of Project 2025 are the clear suspects, especially since Trump disavows knowledge of it. A sure “tell” that he wants to deny any responsibility.
This clearly unnecessary action is just te newest in the series of “nationalization” attempts to take over and exert police powers in Los Angles on the basis of a declared emerency that no one but Trumps minions can see.
Meanwhile, they are encouraging Trump to continue his disruptions within our government by firing people, stopping years long policy initiatives and destroying what is left of our societal norms.
Unfortunately, we in Montana are pawns in this process as all of our elected federal representatives are all in on the disruptions so they can benefit financially. This is most disturbing in that all of these folks are out of state opportunists who individually have more money than they can spend in their or their families lifetimes.
Don’t fall for the Epstein bait, its all part of the process where eventually Trump wil be cast aside on some feasible grounds so the take over can be complete.
It is a sorry state of affairs, when covering up a criminal’s behavior is the mechanism for destroying our republic.
I agree – sad state of affairs. The other sad thing is there are years of this left.
Trump’s tough guy takeover of DC is just the latest stunt to take the spotlight off his ongoing refusal to release the Epstein files. Must be taking them a very long time to excise every mention of his name.
Good point. Trump will destroy the country to keep power and to make a dollar.
