MISSOULA’S OFFICIAL CITY FLAG:

MTN News reported that the Missoula City Council adopted a resolution on Monday night that makes the Pride flag an official flag of the city of Missoula, it is currently the only official flag. This comes in light of a recent Montana law that bans Pride flags from being flown in government buildings and schools.

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte posted a message on Facebook about the resolution:

Last night, nine members of the Missoula City Council made clear their top priority is flying a divisive pride flag over government buildings and schools — all while ignoring the city’s housing affordability crisis, raising taxes by 17% because of over spending, and refusing to take firm action to end encampments in the city. Missoulians deserve better, and fortunately, two council members voted against imposing this divisive, far-left agenda on their community.

The MAGAs in Montana were pretty upset with this resolution.

When the state legislature passed its silly bill about flags, I thought it was a waste of time. The legislature did a lot of stupid things in the past session.

There are many more important things to work on.

SHEEHY CREATES BLIND TRUSTS:

As we found out during the past election, U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy is very rich. Reports showed his total net worth, buoyed by between $16 million and $44 million in dividends from investments, was between $74 million and $200 million. (Source)

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle is reporting that Sheehy has placed up to $50 million in Bridger Aerospace stock into two blind trusts, following through with a campaign promise intending to separate his financial interests from his political influence. But ethics experts say the move doesn’t go far enough.

Of course, the Sheehy spokespeople disagree with the “ethics experts.” To get the whole story, click HERE

I don’t trust Sheehy. There were a lot of lies discovered during the campaign that make it hard to figure out what is true or false.

Montanans have many multi-millionaires representing the state. It seems like you have to be a millionaire to compete in statewide elections. It makes me wonder how they could possibly understand the challenges that Joe and Jill Six-Pack face every day.

TRUMP’S CONSPIRACY THEORY:

Former President Joe Biden is still living rent-free in President Donald Trump’s head.

The New York Times is reporting that President Trump shared an outlandish conspiracy theory on social media on Saturday night saying former President Joseph R. Biden had been “executed in 2020” and replaced by a robotic clone.

  1. Good for Missoula on the pride flag.

It is only the wingnuts who choose to make it “divisive”. They could simp!y ignore it when they see it and go about their business, but no they habe to be divisive and insist that others with a different outlook cannot express themselves.

The flag law itself was intentionally divisive. First of all for its very existence and purpose, but also for its carveouts. It specifically allowed the Gadsden flag, hiding it behind some language like “of historical significance”. But that flag was no more than a footnote to history we only saw in grade school history books on the page that showed every flag that was ever flown in America back in the day, until about the time the Tea Party came along. Since then it has morphed into pretty much the official flag of MAGAs. You usually see it flown right along with Trump flags.

So the legislature and now Gianforte is saying, “You local governments that are tolerant, don’t you dare fly a flag expressing that tolerance and inclusion. But you radical right local governments that want to fly the divisive MAGA flag of hate and intolerance that everyone in the state knows expresses a very particular political and idelogical advocacy, you go right ahead, because we gave you a carveout that allows it.”

The legislator who sponsored this bill was none other than the intolerant ultra MAGA kid Braxton Mitchell from up Kalispell way. His legislative hits also included the “Free to Bully” act that would prohibit discipline against any kid who intentionally and repeatedly misgenders or deadnames others in school, as well as a dumb resolution congratulating Trump for defeating “the radical leftist Kamala Harris”. Not at all divisive that guy. It’s quite obvious where this bill came from, mindset wise.

If Governor Gianforte truly cared about the issue of divisiveness, he would have vetoed this targeted hateful bill and just let people be. But instead he will probably call an emergency session to patch over the loophole. So when you do, Greg, just be honest and title it the “We Montana Republicans Hate LBGTQ” act.

      • Hi Jackie,

I don’t disagree with Terry, as usual right on point.

I do hope that there is some way to disengage Montana, as a whole, from our discourse about the relative minority such as Braxton Miller.

For years, they co-opted the U S flag and they should not be allowed to wrest our state’s good name from us. It is galling to proud native Montanans like me to not be able to proclaim our state citizenship for fear of being lumped together with this terrible group of people who have been given control of our state government.

I how we can come up wit a good way to express our disengagement from these idiots.

        Thanks.

      • Thanks! I think we need to elect more moderate people from both parties to stop the madness. The MAGA train is out of control. -JmB
