Hello! Here are the topics for today’s column:
- NRSC in Debt
- Support House Bill 148
- Trump’s Executive Order
- One More Thing
NRSC IN DEBT:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) was led by U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) last cycle. Daines and his team were successful in that the Republicans took control of the U.S. Senate.
That was the good news.
The bad news is that ABC News is reporting that Daines and his team left the NRSC nearly $24 million in debt. It was also reported that there were unpaid bills from last cycle and the NRSC had limited cash on hand.
That is not a good look for Daines. It’s also not a good look for the Republicans, who once were diehard fiscal conservatives. I don’t think there are any fiscal conservatives left.
Daines is up for reelection this cycle. Maybe the NRSC will withhold the first $24 million in donations from his campaign…
SUPPORT HOUSE BILL 148:
In short, HB 148 in the Montana Legislature would eliminate state income tax on Social Security benefits in Montana.
The primary sponsor of this bill is State Representative Ron Marshall. (Source)
According to Kiplinger, only nine states tax Social Security income. It’s time for Montana to stop taxing our Social Security income.
Contact your state legislator and tell them you want them to support HB 148.
TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDER:
In case you missed it, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.” (Source)
Do you feel safer already?
This EO will undoubtedly be challenged in court.
I wondered how many transgender athletes were competing. One report said only five transgender athletes were competing in girls’ sports in grades K-12 (Source). In December, NCAA President Charlie Baker told a Senate panel that there are fewer than 10 transgender athletes he is aware of who currently compete in college sports…(Source).
There’s a lot of misinformation about transgender athletes, plus there’s a lot of hate toward the transgender community. The hate is what bothers me most.
Back in 2021, the Associated Press reported:
Legislators in more than 20 states have introduced bills this year that would ban transgender girls from competing on girls’ sports teams in public high schools. Yet in almost every case, sponsors cannot cite a single instance in their own state or region where such participation has caused problems.
So it looks like Trump has once again saved the MAGAs…from nothing.
ONE MORE THING:
The older I get the less I feel the need to be included, understood, or accepted.
## END ##

Wow talk about your corruption – Trump’s immigration services are gaming Google searches by sending out press releases about years old actions and tacking on new dates, in order to make it look like there’s ever such a flurry of immigration activity going on right now.
“That four-day operation in Colorado? It happened in November 2010. The 123 people targeted in New Orleans? That was February of last year. Wisconsin? September 2018. There are thousands of examples of this throughout all 50 states – Ice press releases that have reached the first page of Google search results, making it seem like enforcement actions just happened, when in actuality they occurred months or years ago. Some, such as the arrest of “44 absconders” in Nebraska, go back as far as 2008.”
“All the archived Ice press releases soaring to the top of Google search results were marked with the same timestamp and read: “Updated: 01/24/2025”.
Pathetic.
But understandable. In Trump’s first two weeks they only actually deported 6,000 immigrants which is just 71% of the pace of Biden deportations last year. And means it would take over 70 years to deport 11 million illegal immigrants much less the 30 million or whatever Tubby claims are here. At least get some lies out there to dupe the MAGAs, it’s the Trump way.

Sounds like congressional offices stealing each other’s press releases. 😂
