Tuesday’s Quick Hits

Greetings! Here are the topics for today’s column:

  • The Montana Resistance
  • Henry “Hank” Muntzer
  • House Joint Resolution No. 7
  • Trade Wars Postponed

THE MONTANA RESISTANCE:

Great Falls City Commissioner Rick Tryon’s latest tirade is about a Facebook page called “The Montana Resistance.” Tryon posted a few photos from the site on his Facebook page and commented:

This is disturbing, Great Falls. These are memes from a FB page called ‘The Montana Resistance’ inciting violence and hate against folks in our community.

What’s particularly troubling is that I noted a couple of GF folks I personally know ‘Liking’ this sick garbage. And they are a couple of the same people who were advocating for ‘Hate Has No Home Here’ recently.

Make no mistake – this stuff on that page is pure hate and will result in violence if it continues to fester. It has no place in our state and community, it’s not who we are.

On their Facebook page, The Montana Resistance states in their intro:

The Montana Resistance was founded by rebel hero Anonymous to monitor the actions of the Maga Extremist Order of Wackos, or MEOW.

We rely on page followers to obtain evidence of MEOW activites and report them to us via DM.

I like freedom of speech. Facebook (Meta) recently changed some of its rules:

Meta’s platforms are built to be places where people can express themselves freely. That can be messy. On platforms where billions of people can have a voice, all the good, bad and ugly is on display. But that’s free expression. (Source)

Maybe the commissioner should stay away from pages that offend him.

HENRY “HANK” MUNTZER:

One of my favorite MTN News reporters, John Emeigh, reported about Henry “Hank” Muntzer of Dillon, who was arrested and convicted for his role in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Muntzer is now back in Dillon, a free man having received a presidential pardon. Now, he still claims he did nothing wrong that day and his fight is not over.

In the report, Muntzer said:

“My biggest thing right now is hold them all accountable, because we can’t have peace until there’s justice. So that’s where we’re at right now. So, no, I won’t remain silent, I’m going to keep speaking up.”

One interesting part of the interview was this quote from Muntzer:

“I was basically led into the Capitol, just like me inviting you over to your house, and then as soon as I get into your home, you assault me and basically call the police and have me arrested.”

Beam me up, Scotty!

HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 7:

Just when I think the Montana Legislature cannot get any more crazy, I see that the MAGAs in the State House introduced House Joint Resolution 7:

A Joint Resolution Of The Senate And The House Of Representatives Of The State Of Montana Congratulating Donald J. Trump On His Inauguration As President Of The United States.

It’s fun to spike the ball when you win, but some of the language was a little over the top:

WHEREAS, the state of Montana vigorously supports and encourages President Trump in his relentless efforts to combat the insidious “woke” agenda, aligning with Montana’s steadfast commitment to uphold traditional values, preserve its cultural heritage, and safeguard the well-being of its citizens; and…

WHEREAS, the people of Montana and the Montana Legislature urge President Trump to continue his valiant fight against the radical left, specifically targeting individuals and groups such as “The Squad” and Senator Bernie Sanders, who advocate for extreme progressive policies that threaten the foundational principles of the republic and endanger the cherished Montana way of life; and…

WHEREAS, the Montana Legislature extends its profound gratitude to President Trump for his endorsement of Senator Tim Sheehy, whose candidacy led to the defeat of far-left radical Senator Jon Tester, thereby contributing to the restoration of conservative representation for Montana in the United States Senate; and…

According to the Daily Montanan, the bill only passed 53-47, with five Republicans joining Democrats in opposition. (Source)

Just think if the Montana Legislature devoted time to important things. They could be done in 30 days.

TRADE WARS POSTPONED:

As you probably heard and as reported by the Associated Press (AP), President Donald Trump on Monday agreed to a 30-day pause on his tariff threats against Mexico and Canada as America’s two largest trading partners took steps to appease his concerns about border security and drug trafficking.

Trump is still talking about Canada becoming a 51st state (Source). That brings up an interesting question: Would we add another star or a maple leaf to our flag if that happens?

  1. Oh no this is just terrible, going to hit the MAGAs right where they live:

A 50 cents surcharge on eggs at Waffle House due to Trump’s failure to address the egg crisis. Where’s “Operation Mr. Worf Speed” for a chicken vaccine? Ah … we don’t believe in vaccines anymore.

What’s next? Eggbeaters omelets at Shoneys?

“In the past year, the average price for a dozen eggs in the U.S. has jumped 50%, and the cost increase appears to have accelerated since November, the month Donald Trump was elected president, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.”

  2. Let’s recap Trump’s second week.

    Mexico caved

    Panama caved

    Canada caved

    China is panicking

    Mass deportations

    Hostages returned

    J6 Patriots are pardoned

    DEI programs are abolished

    USAID funding canceled

    Two gender only policies

    51 intel agents lost clearances

    Border crossings drop by 93%

Reservoirs being filled up in CA

    D.O.G.E. saving tax payers billions

This is what the majority of us voted for

    Dept of Education is next

      • China had your PI it before Musk.

“Elon Musk followed the money and it went to USAID. The Deep State was so arrogant that they put all of their illicit funding in one agency. They didn’t even consider how Musk went into Twitter with a team and locked it down immediately. And Musk has just started with only a team of six brilliant autists.”

“Not only was the Deep State funding stopped, it was exposed on a large scale. Watch which “leaders” are defending this agency; then watch who Pam Bondi and Kash Patel target in the coming weeks.”-NC Renegades

    • On the contrary, federal reservoirs in California that were holding water for drought emergencies are actually being DRAINED, to uselessly run off water downstream to the normally dry Tulare Lake in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of miles from Los Angeles. Where it will just sit there evaporating. Some will eventually recharge the groundwater so that could eventually be positive for a few Trump supporters in the Central Valley whose wells draw from that particular aquifer.

Typical poorly considered impulsive Trump action.

As for Trump’s 93% decrease, that’s merely a sharpie claim. There’s no public data to back it up. Even Fox News is claiming only 60%. The following story from MSN cites some figures that indicate 50% from December numbers. Which is still good, but no 93%.

      https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/border-crossing-in-southwest-are-down-in-first-week-of-trump-s-administration-as-he-pushes-immigration-crack-down/ar-AA1xKr7d

And still no decrease in the price of eggs or the price of gas or for that matter the price of anything at all which is what the majority really wanted. And no end to the war in Ukraine.

But the hands of a bunch of unpaid and unvetted 19-24 y.o. hackers are in the Treasury till. So that’s great.

  3. Tryon spent the entire four years of Biden dehumanizing and instigating hate against the president and those he disagreed with politically by lumping them all under the hate labels communists, socialists, Comrade, anarchists, what have you, and posting his little own collection of hater memes. But now he’s suddenly clutching pearls because someone else is exercising their own free speech on Facebook and daring to do what he himself was doing. The difference of course is that the terrible bad horrible probable end of civilization as we know it page disses his own clan that thinks they have some exclusive God-given claim to country, faith, and family.

    Nicely played, Mr. Least Self-Aware.

Real Christians would take to heart the words of Christ as written down in Matthew from the sermon on the mount, particularly Chapter 7. Motes in your own eye, beams in your own eye, do unto others, and like that. Though that whole sermon direct from Jesus is probably dismissed as weak woke socialist rhetoric by many CINOs these days so never mind.

  4. Only two weeks in and the loudmouth gets his azz kicked by the neighbors. What a jerk. Unfortunately he’s doing lasting damage to our relationships. Canada has many other options than trading with us which they appeared poised to use. Trump has made the U.S. an unreliable ally, and the Canadians aren’t willing to take the risk of trading with us again. Why should they?

And now Canada has formed an alliance with Denmark to protect Greenland. They actually share an island with Denmark. Hence, share a border. Only trump could achieve this much disaster in only two weeks. In your wildest imagination did you ever think we could vote in a big enough puke to cause the Canadians to boo our national anthem like they did? And the idiot is just getting started! Even the Wall Street Journal knows he’s a moron. But our MAGA legislature is praising him. They should stick with things they’re good at, like searching for the elusive genitalia. It’s less embarrassing to the state!
