TRYON – FORGET ABOUT UNITY:

I recently saw a post from Great Falls City Commissioner Rick Tryon that made me laugh. It appears that Tryon has thrown in the towel on unity and reconciliation and tells his followers to “forget about unity, pick a side and stand up, show up, and speak up.”

Tryon writes:

Forget about unity. We’ve reached the point in our current culture and political climate where unity of vision and purpose is now impossible.

There’s no reconciliation. The worldview of those who see themselves as patriots and people of faith, family, and America First can’t be reconciled to the worldview of those who only see us as Nazis, fascists, MAGAts, bigots, and racists.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLE DETAINED:

According to AZMirror.com, there are reports of Navajo people being detained in immigration sweeps sparking concern from tribal leaders. Since President Donald Trump issued his executive order for an increase in ICE raids, Navajo tribal leaders have received alarming reports that their tribal members are being detained, heightening uncertainties over the implications these actions have for their communities and the safety of their people. In Montana,  Fort Peck and Fort Belknap Tribal members are being urged to carry their tribal identification amid concerns about deportation threats. U.S. Senator Steve Daines says “False news reports that Trump admin is targeting MT tribes for deportation are absurd. President Trump is not deporting Native Americans.” (Source) 

Although the Trump administration may not deport Native Americans, that will not stop officials from checking them for identification. The sad thing about this whole situation is that unless you are white, you may be stopped and asked to prove your citizenship. 

THREE-TERM PRESIDENT:

In case you missed it, Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles introduced a House Joint Resolution to amend the Constitution of the United States to allow a President to be elected for up to but no more than three terms. (Source)

Trump is already 78 years old – too old to be the President.  

SUPER BOWL LIX:

In New Orleans, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will play in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025. The Chiefs are two-time defending Super Bowl champions.  

The Eagles destroyed the Washington Commanders 55-23 (Box Score).

My Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in a great game (Box Score). The haters of the Chiefs will get to hate for two more weeks. With a win in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs will be the first team to three-peat in the Super Bowl era. (Source)

  2. Tryon continues his reign as Most Self-Aware Person on the Planet. The guy who just spent four years spewing Biden Derangement Syndrome and ranting about socialists, communists, antifa, and Comrade Kamala is suddenly concerned about that sort of rhetoric.

    And on a subject from Friday, did you see that over the weekend where Lindsay Graham of all people spoke up and said the violent J6 criminals should not have been let free? Imagine that, Lindsay Graham of all people with more guts than anyone in Montana’s congressional contingent, especially Trump’s men’s room attendant Steve Daines.

    “Pardoning the people who went into the Capitol and beat up a police officer, violently, I think was a mistake because it seems to suggest that’s an okay thing to do,” Graham said.”

    • I read all the comments on Rick’s post and they basically confirmed for me what the statistics say. Fifty-four percent of the adults in this country read at below a sixth grade level, and it shows in the comments commending Rick. I would argue that it is not just reading ability, but reasoning ability and understanding history and it’s significance also. Most commenters have no critical thinking skills nor significant education either. In other words, along with Rick himself, these folks are dumber than dog crap, and therefore perfect cult material.

      Compare their responses to those of the folks who tried to make sensible, rational, articulate, reasonable, fact based arguments to rebut what Rick had written. Rick would have none of it.

      Ultimately, what any reasonable person would have to conclude is that the MAGAs don’t necessarily hate commies, but rather smart, intelligent people who thoroughly intimidate them. In other words, folks living in the real world.

      Rick is an idiot. And hence, when he finds himself totally outclassed, he resorts to attacks and name calling. That and ascribing to himself superiority based upon his “faith, family, and patriotism” that he alone seems to possess. It’s really quite a sad and pathetic spectacle of someone suffering from a terminal inferiority complex.

      Read the thread for yourself and see if you don’t agree. You don’t have to be a writing instructor to immediately see based upon the lack of coherency in their writing styles, that these folks do indeed think that the library and book learning are the tools of Satan. In fact, I think one genius even mentions ol’ Beezlebub in her comments!

      It’s a sad but revealing glimpse into our local MAGA population. They don’t have a clue nor do they suspect one! But it’s even sadder to think that these ne’er do wells and flunkies think that God has chosen and ordained them to be leaders and arbiters of morals and truth. But I guess that if you think that trump is a good Christian, there is NO thought too perverse for your tiny brain!

      • It is truly pathetic that people like Rick seem to believe (or pretend to believe for political gain) that they alone value “faith, family, and patriotism”. And then cast anyone who disagrees with their particular politics as monsters lacking humanity who are deathly opposed to those universal human values. It never seems to occur that people with centrist or left-leaning politics value America and their own family and/or faith just as much as the self-styled patriots, but see things through a different lens or life experience.

        That sort of demonizing the other rhetoric constantly spewing from the the far right likes of Fox News and public officials from Trump on down to Tryon is what really drives the wooden stakes into the heart of “unity”. And has been doing so in overdrive pretty much since a black man dared assume the country’s highest office in 2008.

        But of course that’s what the elite oligarch class like Rupert Murdoch et al wants, to divide all us regular folk against ourselves so that our attention is diverted while they pillage the country and what little wealth the regular folks still have.
