ONE WEEK TO GO!
Greetings! Here are the topics for today’s column:

SHEEHY – $180 MILLION IN LOSSES:
Another scathing article hit the internet on Monday about Tim Sheehy, who is running for U.S. Senate here in Montana. This one was from the Financial Times (FT).
FT reports that Sheehy has racked up $180mn of losses in his last five and a half years running the Nasdaq-listed aerial firefighting company Bridger Aerospace.
FT goes on to report that Sheehy founded Bridger in 2014 after leaving the Navy and ran it until July when he stepped down personally rich from a number of side-projects connected to the company. There was also Blackstone, the world’s largest private equity firm, that extracted $290mn from Bridger in a series of transactions in 2022 which resulted in a $10mn bonus to executives including Sheehy, who was also released from a personal debt guarantee.
Of course, Sheehy’s campaign did not respond to requests to comment.
Sheehy has been dodging the press and having rallies with only invited supporters for the last month or two. He has a lot of questions to answer.
The truth is he should not be one of 100 U.S. Senators. His background is too shady.
Please read the scathing report from FT HERE.
CASCADE COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE:
After reading a report from The Electric about the Cascade County Elections office, I am a little worried that they won’t be able to handle the workload on November 5.
The Electric reported that the Cascade County elections office is swamped, with just over a week remaining before the November 5 election.
Terry Thompson, election administrator, said there had been issues with the post office and ballots not being delivered quickly, or at all, and that phones are ringing constantly in her office with questions.
It sounds like a typical week or so before the General Election. This is a very important election, with one of the top races for the U.S. Senate being contested. It would be a shame if Cascade County delayed the country from getting the results because they were “swamped.” We know that Thompson was picked for the job and had little or no experience. The best person for the job was not selected, and MAGAs are working in the office.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

GIANFORTE VOTES:
The Busse for Montana campaign for Governor contends that Republican Governor Greg Gianforte has violated the Montana Constitution by voting in Gallatin County this year. Public voter registration records show Gianforte claimed his official residential address at 1320 Manley Road in Bozeman, and voted in Gallatin County on October 17.
Here is why they feel it’s unconstitutional:
- The Montana Constitution and Montana Law clearly state the Governor and other Executive Branch officers must “reside at the seat of government.” [Montana Constitution, Article VI, Section 1(3); Montana Code Annotated § 2-16-111]
- The Montana Constitution also says “The seat of government shall be in Helena, except during periods of emergency resulting from disasters or enemy attack.” [Montana Constitution, Article III, Section 2]
- Montana Law also states a voter may have “only one residence” for election purposes. [Montana Code Annotated § 13-1-113]
- In addition to Gianforte’s home in Bozeman, he also privately owns two mansions in Helena (618 Madison Avenue and 720 Madison Avenue). This year he bought a fourth mansion at 14 Leaning Tree Lane on Georgetown Lake.
- Unlike his predecessors, Gianforte has never occupied State of Montana’s official, taxpayer-funded residence for the Governor at 2 Carson Street in Helena. It is currently vacant.
Multimillionaires like Gianforte march to the beat of their own drum. This situation needs to be looked into. He is not above the law or the Constitution.

## THE END ##

I find it so interesting that Montana property taxes went up between 30 to over 50% under the 2023 GOP Administration because Gianforte and the legislative leaders didn’t listen to their own staff to reduce evaluation. But here in Lake County Senator Greg Herz is running for another 4 year term on reducing property tax, but he was Chairman of the taxation committee. Of course he doesn’t say how he is going to do that. He will easily be reelected here as most of the GOP candidates had nearly 1000 votes more then any democrat in June primary. The democrats won’t win any major state offices as in primary the GOP all won by 16 plus percent. In fact Attorney General Knutsen as corrupt as he is was the biggers GOP vote getter. Now the GOP wants to pass a law protecting an Attorney General from any punishment while in office. Kind of sounds like a Trump idea. I thought I was done with surveys but one was send to me this AM from Action Research mostly Tester vs Sheehy. I also received a text from Zinke labeling all Democrats as Communist and they are coming for our guns. Seems like heard that for like 20 years and still have mine in the gun safe. Yesterday received the most political literature yet 12 pieces. Well I thinking will not turn tv on till next Wednesday or Thursday. The pundits don’t know anymore then you or I.
It will all be over soon. I only received two pieces today! -JmB
The whole fiasco with MAGAt candidates is a religious thing. They were told, directly and personally, by someone in their version of paradise to “go forth with my hand upon you to lie, cheat, and steal.” They’re just being good, practicing followers of that fundamentalist commandment. Of course, you have to understand that the fundament there is the one you sit on.
Haha. Great explanation! Thanks, JmB
What? You mean that fat orange lump of poo isn’t the second coming? Shady and Zinkester beg to differ!

Talk about Montana values! Tester’s tough, Montana tough! He’s our Curly from City Slickers pickin’ on our new greenhorn Sheehy. That according to MAGA spokesman Berg. According to Berg, all Timmy’s problems are because of Tester, ALL of them.
Apparently Jon caused Timmy’s business to go bankrupt. He ruined Timmy’s military reputation. And he made people hate Timmy because he’s rich. And Berg says that’s Dem dirty tricks. So bad in fact it’s a new low for them no good low down Dems! You can almost hear Berg whine!
Think about that for a moment. That’s a toughness only a real Montana man possesses. Tim was a good hearted sorta normal fellow when he arrived in Montana, just wanting to live the MAGA lifestyle in the Big Sky with his checkered past and questionable moral code not on display for the entire state to laugh at. And suddenly it was all gone!
Somehow through some devious means, Tester turned him into a lousy, corrupt businessman, into an inveterate liar, and a guy so incompetent he managed to crash his airplane and shoot himself in the arm when he wasn’t busy insulting our indigenous population. THAT’S the kind of toughness we need in the senate, not a greenhorn who’s gonna whine when someone is picking on him!
I think Timmy needs to find a new line of work, one where lying, cheating, corruption and racism are considered attributes. There’s still a whole lotta empty land in Montana for white settlers like Timmy to civilize. And it’s about time he brings us out of the backwaters! That’s his true calling!
In the Age of Trump, Republican politician IS a line of work where “lying, cheating, corruption and racism are considered attributes”. The more the merrier and the MAGAs eat up. A far cry from the distant past – thousands of years ago – Republican party of “character matters”.
Gianforte flouting the law should come as no surprise. We always knew there were two sets of laws, the written ones that are enforced against all us regular folk to keep us in our place, and the ones for the very rich that are no laws at all just do whatever they want and buy themselves out of any scrapes.
But there was still some pretense that we are a Nation of Laws. In the age of Trump that pretense has been stripped away and they don’t even bother to try anymore. It’s, “We will do whatever we want, what are you going to do about it? And oh by the way, don’t YOU jaywalk.”
This thing with Gianforte will come to nothing. Because laws do not apply to him.
Good points. People like Gianforte are what’s wrong with politics. -JmB
