ANOTHER SHEEHY SCANDAL?

The Huff Post is reporting that the campaign of Montana GOP Senate candidate Tim Sheehy appears to have doctored a recent TV advertisement to remove a logo of the Property and Environment Research Center from the shirt he was wearing. PERC is a Montana-based think tank with a history of advocating for the privatization of federal public lands, which has become a central issue in the race.

It was further reported that earlier this month, Sheehy’s campaign sent out public land-focused mailers to Montana voters. The mailer features a picture of Sheehy sitting at a campsite with his family and wearing a flannel shirt with the PERC logo clearly visible on one sleeve.

It was reported several months ago that Sheehy was on the Board of Directors of PERC in 2022. He failed to disclose this when filing his financial disclosure with the U.S. Senate. (Source) 

It appears to me that someone in the Sheehy camp screwed up again. Sheehy is a millionaire and should have a few different shirts to make him look like a cowboy! With this new scandal, I think we can safely say that Sheehy is for the privatization of federal lands – and that’s something that many Montanans don’t like.

TO DEBATE OR NOT DEBATE:

In a press release from the Ryan Busse campaign Monday, they announced that  Governor Greg Gianforte had officially cancelled two televised, statewide debates with the Montana Television Network, MontanaPBS, Lee Newspapers, Yellowstone Public Radio and Montana Public Radio—news organizations that have traditionally hosted debates among candidates for governor.

Because Gianforte has formally refused to participate, both debates are now “off” according to the news organizations.

Later in the day, the Montana Free Press (MTFP) reported that two candidates for Montana’s governor’s seat have agreed to debate in mid-October after incumbent Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte declined to participate in two earlier forums proposed by separate news outlets. 

The MTFP says the debate is scheduled for October 16 and will be hosted by NonStop Local, an ABC-Fox affiliate. The only thing agreed to is the date, so it is not a done deal. 

It’s a shame there were no debates right after the primary (June), and at least two or three scheduled before the ballots are mailed. It just seems like Gianforte is being a chicken about this. Montanans expect candidates for Governor to debate. 

MAGA EXCUSES:

It has been hilarious to read the MAGA reasoning behind Donald Trump getting his ass kicked in the debate with Kamala Harris. The MAGAs are more and more like a cult.

Here are some of my favorite wacky excuses:

  • Harris wore a small speaker earpiece that looked like earrings so she could be given the answers. (Fact Check)
  • Harris was given the questions beforehand from ABC. (Fact Check)
  • A light was shining in Trump’s eyes. (Source)
  • Harris and Linsey Davis, one of the moderators of the ABC presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump in September 2024, are sorority sisters. (Fact Check) 

There are probably excuses that I missed. Feel free to let me know in the comment section. No matter what excuses the MAGA folks come up with, there’s really no excuse for the dumb answers given by Trump.

  2. My favorite debate excuse is that the moderators were paid members of Kamala’s campaign team.

    But why are Tubby’s supporters even making all these excuses? Excuses are only necessary for losers, and Tubby claims he won yugely. A lie even hardcore MAGAs won’t believe … who woulda thought it possible.

  3. “the putrid core of the GOP”. Pretty accurate description. And Don Jr. even gets in the act by saying blacks have lower IQs. Must be Swede’s source! And now they’re even conflating Haitian with Jamaican. And guess who’s half Jamaican. Puppy stew in the White House?

    • You’d think with all this hate, all these scandals, Jan 6th (worse attack since Pearl Harbor), debate lies, closing all rural hospitals, closing off all public lands, Tester working with President Trump, oppressing drag queens and false accusations against the poor Haitians you’d be kicking ass in the polls.

      Imagine sucking so bad to be so far behind.

      • Immigrants, Swede, immigrants. We’ve got so many MAGA immigrants moving to Montana that they’ve taken over. And they make the Haitians look like Einstein! They’re not known for eating pets, just for being extremely stupid and easily manipulated.

        They’re followed a psychopath just like the Germans did. Hitler was no great shakes. In fact he was a pathetic little psychopath like trump. But he knew how to use fear, hatred, and violence to great effect. Just like trump! Trump is no genius, and neither was Hitler. In fact, those who were closest to trump have nearly all turned against him.

        Dorothy Thompson was the first foreign journalist Hitler kicked out of Germany. She knew him well. And she couldn’t stand him. He had no redeeming qualities, just like trump. And she wrote what she saw before a lot of people knew what Hitler was all about. Her husband, Sinclair Lewis, took her information about Germany and wrote the book It Can’t Happen Here. (But it is.)

        While others feared Hitler, she knew he was a laughable pathetic pitiable little man. A man completely without substance. A coward and criminal. And yet the German people, just like our MAGAs, followed him.

      • I remember when Rehberg was up by four points on Tester with a week to go and lost. I remember when Hillary had it in the bag. I remember when Schweitzer said he called the Butte/Silver Bow clerk and recorder on election night for Tester.

      • Kama!a is actually doing pretty well in the polls from what I have read. Preferred over Tubby in America overall and it’s real real tight in the swing states. Even almost caught him in Iowa of all places.

        But as was said here previously, the only poll that really counts is the one on election day.
